Surprisingly dense and hard material

bought in stock. However, they are much cheaper and similar in quality to Home Depot (Corky). TIP: My friend advised me not to use cleaning tablets in the tank. These components wear out. I replaced all my toilets in 2014 and only used pills in 1 toilet on a trial basis. It was this toilet that first had to replace that flush valve.

Pros
  • trial period for one year
Cons

Important installation point

Today I installed two or these. Both came in like a charm. Later I noticed that they didn't let water fill the tank. . . it was not a seal. I have found that the top of the canister and the bottom of the canister "stick" and if you don't align the slots and "fins" it will not seat properly and will not drain water into the tank. So when you put the top back on the bottom, be sure to turn until the two halves of the cylinder lock together as you turn, then put the screw back in the middle.

Easy if you just read the instructions!

This product seems very simple (it is) for very simple application (it is), but if you try to do the installation yourself you will probably waste a lot of time. This is the second installation I've done with this gasket (the other toilet is a spare from another supplier). It was "experience" to say the least. This product came with simple instructions and stopped me from doing things very inefficiently. I highly recommend this seller, not only for the product but also for the excellent follow…

Don't waste your time and money

Don't waste your time and money! I bought 2 Champion toilets to replace my old toilets when I bought this house. I called American Standard because I read online that the flush valve was bad and they offered a replacement, but they told me to replace the gasket. I did and it made no difference. The toilet kept draining. What I saved on my month-long water bill covered the cost of replacing the flush valve with the Fluid Master. I replaced the valve on my most used toilet over a year ago and…

I think they work. Now they are my spare parts.

My American Standard Champion 4 Toilet Leaked Having read various articles, it has been determined that these seals can deteriorate and need to be replaced. I ordered a set and all components were in the package. While waiting for delivery, I kept searching and reading about this seal. I found a solution for a seal which was to take a needle and poke a water cyst in the seal. I had probably 4 or 5 of these "cysts" over/under the seal. After surfacing, press on the "cyst" until the water is…

Clean your parts! on bathroom lights

This solved my problem but was not without troubleshooting. I had a slow leak in my toilet. I flushed the toilet then turned off the water when the water level rose above the black nut which needs to be unscrewed. Leave it like that for about an hour and the water level dropped to the level of the silicone seal. Fit a new gasket and repeat the process because everyone should make sure your toilet has COMPLETELY stopped leaking. Water will still flow onto the silicone seal, but not as quickly. I

Fixed phantom resets

My champion 4 was resetting phantom flashes about every hour so I got these 2 packs and installed them in about 10 minutes. My original gasket had a lot of big bubbles which seems crazy for a silicone plastic part. No wonder it leaked. The toilet is about 4 years old and I've been putting bleach tablets in the tank for a while. I have another toilet that is identical and was installed at the same time but it has never had cistern cleaner and has not started leaking yet. I imagine any bowl…

Stops the phantom flush in the champion toilet

The flap seal for this toilet is made of silicone and appears to form air bubbles which in turn create leaks causing a small leak which causes the fill valve to turn on - - ghost flush. The US standard states that you should only use their substitute seals, since "same as" doesn't work. The reviews show that the life of a new gasket is unlimited - from a few months to several years - regardless of where you bought it. AS replaces the seal if you have proof of purchase. There are many reviews…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • I keep calm

I have an Am Std model 4266 and it "runs". I've seen the term "ghost flush" in other reviews and don't know what it means. The term seems to suggest that the toilet flushes itself. That's not the problem I have. The problem I have, well, the problem I had, is that the water in the toilet tank slowly and silently ran out or dripped into the bowl. This lowers the water level in the tank and then the float valve opens and the tank refills. Observable symptom - the toilet is leaking. We hear water…
