Good water but needs installation improvement

First the good part, the water is good. This is a good product it just needs some simple upgrades to make it an excellent product and simple to install. We had a Britta filter for many years and also got reverse osmosis water from the grocery store. This is an improvement and more convenient since we drink a lot of water. Now the disappointing part. For a company that is owned by A.O. Smith I'm disappointed on the features and the installation. I added some pictures for description.1. When…

BEWARE bad hardware - danger of flooding!

I made this a one star review mostly because of the horrible tee provided with the product to split the incoming water line between the faucet and the filter. As at least one other reviewer mentioned, the hardware is total junk. I installed it following the instructions and less than 48 hours, at 2 am I was awakened by the sound of waterworks under my kitchen cabinet. The compression fitting on the tee failed and the entire 3/8 plastic water tube that supplies the filter simply fell out causing…

  • Aquasana's patented Claryum filtration technology ensures high levels of performance, preventing clogging and reducing the need for frequent cartridge replacements

3-Stage Water Filter

I'm really enjoying the Aquasana AQ-5300.56 3-Stage water filter. Compact, super easy to install and no leaks. Just adhere to the easy-to-follow and included directions, in particular, the tube insertion lengths. My installation is under-counter on a sailboat. The compact filter sizes make them really easy to both fit and service. My experience was only tarnished by receiving a damaged filter in the manufacturing packaging which subsequently took two calls to support, two shipments and a total…

Pros
  • ‎6.54 pounds
Cons
  • May not come with all necessary hardware for installation

Enjoy great tasting water in a cup not in the basement.

We have had the filter system for a week now and are extremely pleased with the taste of the filtered water. Even though I had to change my piping under the sink it was a relatively easy install. We did have a major flood due to what I think was an equipment malfunction. I've included a picture for reference. I slid the "white collar" (K) onto the tube and inserted the"white insert"(L) into the tube and connected it to the faucet. On the second day of use I came home from work and heard running

Pros
  • ‎Plastic
Cons
  • Can be incompatible with some sink configurations or piping

TWO IMPORTANT THINGS

This is a great filtration system, but note these two important things:1. The thing will leak, eventually. It was two years for us, and it will happen to you because the seals in the housing (manifold) fail. It was a small drip that had probably been leaking for 8-10 hours. It took two beach towels to clean it up.2. Aquasana will send you a new housing for free (you pay $4.99 shipping, or not if you're a good negotiator) if you are getting your filters from them directly. It is, essentially, a…

Pros
  • The Aquasana 3-Stage Under Sink Water Filter System provides you with clean, fresh-tasting water that is free from harmful chemicals like chlorine
Cons
  • May not fit well with non-standard sink sizes or shapes

leaks after a few years

After about 3 years, each attempt to replace the filters (I was on the water for life plan),led to different areas that would leak. I would spend a few hours trying to trouble shootthe problem with aquasana support (who were helpful, but made me try lots of things),phone waits were often more than 15 minutes. The last 3times I've got replacement filters I've had leaks, I received a filter which was smaller (andcaused the flow rate to be extremely low), to test, they had me put a quarter beneath

Pros
  • ‎No
Cons
  • Water pressure can be affected by the filter system

Quite happy with the Aquasana AQ-5300.56

The filter works wonderfully. We are very happy with it. The unit installed quickly and easily. The water tastes great and the valve turns off with no drips. A huge improvement over our old PUR unit which attached to to the faucet. However, the dispensing unit seems to be just a bit flimsy. The part that attaches to the sink base feels loose and not solid. I think it could be easily damaged or broke if care is not taken. That said, I don't think this would be a great choice for folks with…

Pros
  • ‎AQ-5300.62
Cons
  • The unit takes up valuable under-sink storage space

Great until it leaked

I used this system for 4 years and really liked it until it sprung a good sized leak from one of the filter containers. When I looked at it closely I saw a pin-sized hole was at the bottom seam of the container and the plastic in that area looked really thin - like it had been shaved or the mold they used caused it. Luckily I had a 1 gallon mat under the sink and caught the leak just after it started. This is greatest fear with these systems and I wouldn't feel comfortable buying Aquasana…

Pros
  • ‎Lithium Manganese Dioxide
Cons
  • Not suitable for large households or frequent water usage

8 Years of Use so Far

Bought ours in 2014 when we moved into our new house. We mostly use it for filtered water to put in our coffee machine. Never had any issues, no leaks (knock on wood). I've replaced the filters several times but I tend to let them go longer then the "recommended" and they have been fine. The filters are expensive for sure but our coffee machine is still going strong too. They are easy to replace, I leave the battery out and instead just put a piece of tape on there with the date of filter…

Pros
  • ‎Filters, housing, faucet, install kit
Cons
  • The unit may require occasional maintenance to prevent clogs or odors

Great filter, terrible hardware

So first, the bad.Purchased this filter last week and installed it over the weekend. The brass T fitting that ties into the cold water line was as cheap as it gets. The compression nut to connect the intake tube to the brass T fitting was out of spec and allowed water to erupt around the intake tube at the neck of the compression nut. Water quickly filled the bottom of my cabinet and soaked me a few times while I tried to get it to fit correctly. I tried to seal the contact point between the…

  • Under-Sink & Countertop Filtration

Generally satisfied

I am quite happy with the result. The water test better but using a simple water tester does not show the quality of bottled water. I think I would have to go through a broader test to see has better my water has become. But I believe it’s better now and it’s only a small filter system anyway. For a bigger one I would not have space. That brings me to the installation. It is not as easy as thought and shown in the videos if the working space is limited to handle installation. Also the images in

Beware Replacement Filters Leak

Like many others have written.Great filtration, but beware that filter replacement will yield leaks - on all 3 filters? I wonder if the O-Rings need to be replaced a swell.

Pros
  • With a compact, under-sink design, this water filter system is out of sight and out of mind, ensuring that your kitchen stays clutter-free and convenient to use
Cons
  • Can require regular filter replacements, which can be a hassle for some users

Good filter good for me

This filter was extremely easy to install and works well. I like that you can turn the faucet on and it stays on. Taste of the water is great.

Pros
  • Aquasana's commitment to customer satisfaction and excellent service makes purchasing this product a worry-free experience
Cons
  • The oil-rubbed bronze finish may scratch or chip easily

Lasted SIX years. Value for money.

We ordered this in July of 2016. We didn’t have any problems for SIX years. What a great value. I just ordered a second one. So much better than a refillable jug. We HIGHLY recommend this one.

Cons
  • Can be more expensive than other water filter systems on the market
