The product itself is excellent and would work as intended if Comcast weren't so complicated. The first rep I spoke to told me the device was EOL and could not be activated. The second rep I spoke to told me the device was EOL for internet but should work fine for phone calls. He was able to connect it with the model number TM822R. I only gave this modem one star because it is a DOCSIS 2 modem and Comcast will NOT add it to your account (even for basic telephony use). Comcast supports DOCSIS 2 (and likely will for some time, this TM602G replaces Comcast's TM604G - same model but with 4 voice lines instead of 2).
