Requires ground support to work effectively

It would be great if it came with a stem that can be driven into the ground for stability. The wind blew my double gate away and left a long hole in the yard because there was nothing in the ground to grab hold of.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Very expensive

Not recommended for hardware

When mounting on the same rack, the two brackets don't match for me. So I had to make the holes bigger, but before that I was trying to figure out what was wrong because the cylinder didn't go down and out and easily scratched the rods.

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • Something else

Exactly what I wanted

This product is exactly what I wanted and hoped for. There's enough power for gates of any size I imagine. I've included 2 photos so you can see how it looks installed, with the gate closed and also when used to hold the gate open.

Heavy duty train

Well made and durable. This is definitely a heavy duty hanging bar. The only criticism is the delivery condition. The photos show that it took a pretty hard hit to dent the metal and chip the powder coating. It's quite a hassle that I need to touch up the color of a brand new item.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • High price

Complicated Installation Fits Gate Hardware

There are a couple of lugs on the underside of the stem that help lock it in place and it makes installation very difficult if they don't give you the recommended spacing give between the parts. You screw on your gate. After spending half an hour trying to find the right spacing I finally got rid of the extra noobs because one is more than enough. Yes, the paint scratches easily.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Fits

Works after modifications

I ordered two of these and on all four mounts I had to remove about 1/16" of material (with a dremel) from the hole in the bottom mount to allow for the stem (see attached Image with arrow) ). Waste of time but they are fully functional now. Also, the included screws appear to be of poor quality, with paint peeling and burrs. Also, these are Phillips self-tapping screws, which I find very difficult to drive lightly. I used four and then found some hex nuts instead. The black paint on the pole…

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Some minor things

Works perfectly and good quality compared to box stores variant

Good quality. Anyone who installs them will have dispersion issues. All you have to do is adjust the screws in the brackets so there is enough hole for the rod. If you overtighten the screws, the mount will not work as expected. Just loosen the screws a bit and it should work after some minor adjustments. I like the fact that my climbs are tight. I was lucky enough to be able to drill a 3/4 hole in the concrete, about 1 1/2 inches, to allow the poles to fall where I wanted the fence to be…
