Just about ok for the average golfer.

Exactly what I need including clearance to hazards, bunkers, end of fairway, front, middle and back greens. As accurate as the more expensive range finders my gaming partners use. The battery lasts at least two shots. Normally the course finds itself quickly, but I had to turn it off and on more than once. Be careful with the charging cover; It is fragile and easy to break, which can cause debris to interfere with charging. I think this happened to my first one which stopped taking a charge…

Large, clear digital display; The magnet function is great!

Large clear digital display; The magnet function is great! Attaches to the car windshield/roofpost to check footage, easily removed to take the ball with you when needed. The belt clip option doesn't work that well - it seems to get knocked off easily; I'm not sure if the strength of the magnet changes or what the problem could be. But I don't care about that side issue. . . This thing is MUCH better than the wrist watch style I used. Big recommendation: get a bright neon green like me. Makes…

Accurate GPS SIMPLE Excellent support

Bought 3 Phantoms for family after seriously considering getting shot tracking systems. I chose this because while I can use the phone app with the Phantom, I can get all the important data I need on a large screen that's designed for use in bright sunlight, including shooting distance, at one great price without having to mess around with my phone. not intended for use in bright sunlight. All three of us used Phantoms without opening the phone app. It just wasn't necessary for our purposes…

Worst GPS I've ever seen.

I am 3rd HDCP and play golf at many courses near my country club. This device, even with the Bushnell name, is inferior to the cheapest phone app I've tried in the past. The gauges are untrustworthy, the magnet holding them to a metal golf cart is weak by battery standards, hard to see so you can only carry them in your pocket, I already have a Bushnell watch so doesn't work. not help. I'm looking for something that will attach to my golf cart and give me a bullish GPS plus hazards and, as some

It works but has some downsides

I hate wearing a watch on the golf course so I was excited to try the Bushnell Phantom. I assumed I would clip it to my belt and refer to it when needed. The problem is that the magnet is too weak to stick to the belt clip. It just takes a little pressure from your hand, a golf cart, or those love handles you wear around your waist to bring it down. Well there is no problem. I just put it in my pocket and take it out when I need it. This also doesn't work well because either the satellite…

Works well for $100

When I bought this device I was looking for a device with accurate distance measurement and every time I have used it I have felt that it is doing a good job. This makes it very easy to track the distance of the shot. The display is large and easy to read at any time of the day. Having reliable shipyards improved my game. I have seen negative comments in other reviews regarding the plastic and magnet on the device. I guess I don't understand what fancy plastic or magnet they expect for $100…

One hundred bucks, good people

Writing reviews is not my game which is quite funny as I read them and they influence my decisions. dollars, it's awesome. I only dared the manufacturer. Distance measurement and focusing are part of their job and date back to the early days of binoculars and their inception. The credibility of this story was the final deciding factor after reading some not-so-great reviews. I believe that cost is always key, and with all due respect, others may expect more for their hard-earned $100. You'd be…

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Some cons

Plastic - Slightly cheaper plastic for the case works well but appears to be cheaper plastic used to assemble the unit. Maybe this type of plastic has a good UV rating, but I would expect the outer shell to feel a bit pliable/rubbery. Although it works fine. Maybe other manufacturers use the same type of plastic. I do not know. The magnet is not strong enough to easily attach to the cart, hits will definitely knock it off. You can use a clip and try to attach it to the card holder…
