Overpriced but good

Look everywhere for replacement due to chip shortage. Same box painted white instead of brown SG series

Pros
  • Great design
Cons

ideal for small home labs/shops

Most of the features you see in CCNA practice can be used here in this small switcher. There are some enterprise-level things you can't do, but honestly, if you're at that level, you're not looking for that switch anyway. It's Cisco, so it's not out of the box. But it's great if you have a specific setup you want to implement and only need a few ports. Highly recommended

Cons
  • Available in white only

Good business switch but no internal power supply

The first thing I would like to say is that this is not one of those plug and play switches. You need to set this up for it to work. It's not exactly a device for new users, and it takes a bit of experience or time to set it up. The closest thing to it is that it has ten gigabit ethernet ports, but two gigabit ethernet ports will most likely be connected to additional smart switches. It comes with a 19-inch rack mount that attaches to the Switch, which is a nice touch. Build quality is pretty…

High-performance switching, easy to deploy and manage

The Cisco Business 250 Smart Switch is a great choice for small business networks. It combines renowned Cisco performance and reliability with an easy-to-use web-based configuration interface, and the optional Business Dashboard software greatly simplifies management tasks when managing multiple Cisco devices. It's a great switch for Cisco veterans and novices alike, with the versatility to handle almost any level of network complexity. From a hardware perspective, this switch offers…

Great managed L2/L3 switch for SOHO or home labs.

The Cisco CBS250-8FP-E-2G Smart Switch combines enterprise-class management features with an intuitive, easy-to-use web interface typically found in consumer products. Result? A managed switch that's exceptionally easy to install, use and configure, with all the networking options you've come to expect from a managed switch. Documentation. The switch I ordered has 8 gigabit PoE ports up to a total power of 67W, 2 gigabit upstream ports and 2 additional gigabit copper/fiber combo SFP ports…

Pros
  • glitters
Cons
  • for a long time

supports PoE+ (up to 30W per port or 60W total across all ports) and 2 ports have no PoE but are combo SFP- ports . This supports almost every feature you need for a small business or home lab - VLANs, port tagging, and access control lists. It supports even more features, but probably more than you need for the size of this switch. Cisco describes this as a layer 2 switch. My main reasons for having a managed switch on my network are port aggregation (LACP) so my servers can bond two network…

Pros
  • Annual trial
Cons
  • poorly designed

Very good SOHO network switch but with some amazing missing features

I ordered a Cisco Business CBS250 Smart Switch (model number BS250-8P-E-2G) to replace a working but somewhat dated Netis switch substitute. The Cisco Business CBS250 Smart Switch is cryptically referred to as an eight-port Gigabit Ethernet switch. In fact, however, it has ten Gigabit Ethernet ports. Find out! It also has two combo Gigabit Ethernet (copper/SFP) uplink ports that are presumably used to daisy chain additional Cisco Business CBS250 smart switches. The switch supports PoE (Power…
