This cable permanently burned one of my MacBook Pro USB-C controllers and since then two of my USB-C sockets have been having serious problems! Not only is this a terrible product, it is also dangerous. They offered to replace the cable but I don't think they would offer to fix my $3500 laptop 😡

Ordered this for a brand new 2017 Macbook Pro (which now only has USB-C). Works great for video and audio via HDMI to TV monitor. I saw a review here that said it wasn't compatible with their Macbook Pro but I suspect it was a bad cable as the specs and my experience show it to work great.

Worked for me as described. I used this cable to connect my Surface Book 2 laptop and Galaxy Note 8 mobile phone to my TV. No problem. The cable looks good but I can't confirm its durability as I've only had it for about a month and don't use it very often. If it breaks prematurely, I'll update this post accordingly. I deducted 1 star because the price for a simple cable is a bit high. I paid $12 for it. I think a fair price would be around $10 or less.

UPDATE. After trying a replacement, CableCreation sent me another cable (link below) that fixed the issues I found. I recommend purchasing this cable if you are using a MacBook Pro USB-C. day (otherwise works perfectly). I'll start using my computer and after about 30 minutes to an hour the first blackout occurs - while still being able to use the other screen and interact with the computer. Other USB-C to HDMI cables/adapters do not experience these side effects.

This is a really high quality and good looking cable that does exactly what it says on the tin. Note, however, that when attempting to connect a 4K monitor, this cable only supports 30Hz at 4K resolution, not the full 60Hz.
