They seem to work well enough, but they also keep coming loose.

They have to be unscrewed to extend so that side pressure keeps them in place. I pushed them far enough to even out the contents of the fridge and keep them in place when traveling. But every time we arrive and I open the fridge one of them is loose. I think any cheap curtain rod will work as well. I liked them at first because they were sturdy, there were 2 of them and they clipped together so I figured they would support both tall and short items in my fridge.

  • good thing
Cons
  • only available in black

Ideal for camper trips!

Bought for our van's fridge and freezer. Works great for keeping things in place when traveling! Shop more for our outdoor RV fridge. On our first trip we didn't use these sticks for the external fridge and when we opened the door everything fell out whereas in the internal fridge with these sticks everything stayed in place. Showed us how well they work. Made of durable plastic. Then you need to move until you find the right place on the walls of the refrigerator, where they fit snugly andโ€ฆ

  • Heavy duty

Great for protecting fridge from door opening attacks

We bought our camper a few years ago and was wondering why anyone would want it. Finally, the fridge snaps in for travel, why bother? We then went on a long trip and had to carry a lot more stuff in the fridge than on our short trips. Roughly speaking, the fridge attacks you every time you open the door. Your toes are at great risk, it seems like the fridge intentionally throws things at you every time you open the door. Hence the bar fridges. They work. I love her. Just like my fingers.

  • Best in niche

Inefficient fridge bars

Not worth the time and money. It's almost impossible to get 4 ends to apply the same pressure to stay in place and chances are you'll break the glued plastic spacers in the process (this tip is based on experience). I ended up putting paper in the two rubber caps to hold them firmly in place so they can actually do their job, and yet one of the ends seems a little loose. Individual bars work much better, allowing more flexibility in retrieving items from the fridge and maintaining pressure onโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Great tip for not slipping and staying in place.

They are great with a small and cheap mod. Here is a description of Revain's replacement tips. "50 Packs Rubber Door Stops White Silicone Replacement Door Stop Caps Door Stops For Wall And Floor Protection One Size From Outus" will hold these and other Camco pull rods in place without slipping. Less than $11. They stretch to fit either end and you get 50. You could use alcohol on the wider end but I didn't. I keep the upper stem a bit loose so I can tilt it to get larger items out withoutโ€ฆ

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Expensive

Stays in place, very safe.

I put off buying this item for our camper last year. I'm so glad I finally bought it this summer. Traveling through mountain ranges with our camper can drastically change everything in a camper. Nobody wants to open their fridge at their destination and find things falling out. We used this on our middle shelf in the fridge and it effectively turned that shelf into a box that keeps a few small items right where they are needed. Plus, it was easy to "open" and lower just one of the poles to getโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Upgrade available

They still help hold items in place while cruising down the road.

A base for camper vans for decades, the design has never changed either because they still work! We have used them on our various RV's over the years to keep items in place and on shelf in the RV fridge. They will also work on many closet shelves but this time I bought them for our fridge. While some reviewers I've read said they could easily be separated, the plastic holders broke when I tried to separate them for our use, realizing that together they basically block a shelf and when separated

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • weak

Saves on Nobel Peace Prize winning beer

As diehard beer snobs, my wife and I sometimes buy bottled beer. Until we found this marvel of engineering, we only drank canned beer on our travels. It's great, works well, seems solid enough, deserves a Nobel Peace Prize. You think I'm reckless. Well you get up at 5am, drive to work at rush hour, work all day, drive home at rush hour, pick up your wife, then drive another 5 hours, camp at 11pm, open the fridge and find that the beer runs out. Everywhere with glass and such. At this point, you
