A high-quality product, the price corresponds to the quality.

I keep the scanner and use it when necessary, without taking it out of the desk drawer)) Since there is no disk reader on the computer, in 5 minutes I downloaded the 2022-language driver from the official canon website. After installing and configuring the folders and the functionality of the buttons, everything works fine. Acquired in the fall for 3.900 in one of the online stores. The scanner will cover 100% home and office needs.

    Pros
    • Scanning quality, low cost, compact size, no power supply, the ability to work with a printer on the principle of "one-button copying".
    Cons
    • A little specific, not even a flaw, but a feature. When importing an image directly from Photoshop, there is no quality. You have to first import to the specified folder, then open from Photoshop, then everything works perfectly.

The quality was generally satisfied, there were minor shortcomings.

The basic Linux software perfectly suited our current tasks with this scanner. Its pros: CanoScan LiDE 300. To some extent, a forced purchase, since with the transition to Linux, the old scanner turned out to be impossible to use. The manufacturer does not support. Positive. LINUX supports. However, the scanner did not work immediately, but only after the removal of the ippusbxd library. Prompted by an expert named Sebastian Cruz. Thanks to him. Otherwise, the connection went according to the…

A really necessary purchase, glad I found this product.

Some kind of special usb cable is included and it is said that others will not work, although it looks like a normal USB A <-> mini with two inductive shields; Interchangeability with other cables has not been tested. Has pros: Works great in Linux, 100% functionality support in stock sane. Good scan quality. Its cons: Powered by USB port only. Not all ports are capable of delivering 0.9A - on the laptop I had to look for which port would suit.

Average purchase, there are some things to complain about.

I took it in M. Video, DO NOT TAKE THERE. On a return, people are deliberately slow to serve and all the time they try to deceive, saying that it was you who ruined everything. Got pros: The color of the photo is normal, the bw photo is normal, the quality is normal. Light. Cons: Scans not from the beginning of the area at the edge! That is, the photo is cropped, you can’t align them at the edge. Very uncomfortable. Plus a variety of horizontal stripes.

Best thing I have ever used, highly recommended!

Pros: The quality and speed of scanning, a very convenient program with a lot of settings, it is convenient to scan documents - everything is collected in one PDF. Cons: There are questions about color reproduction, but everything is not very critical and can be easily corrected in Photoshop.

I like it, thank you for the quality product.

Miracles don't happen. This is a CIS scanner. For my money 3800. normal office device. I bought it because I rarely scan and mostly documents, and I was running out of money. If the scanned material does not adhere tightly to the glass, then the sharpness is immediately lost. See photo. Has pros: Small. Easy installation. Connection without power supply. Fast Scan. Acceptable color reproduction. With its cons. The scan mode program settings could be clearer. Shallow depth of field. Lightweight…

Excellent quality, absolutely not expected for such a price.

This scanner turned out to be the cheapest, so I decided to buy it. I liked the fact that you do not need a separate power cable. In general, according to the instructions, it is recommended to connect it via USB 3.0. And the current specifications indicated on the bottom correspond to USB 3.0 - 5V, 900mA. But I tried to connect via USB 2.0, the scanner worked. There are physical buttons on the scanner, their action can be reconfigured in the software. There are different scanning modes…

    Pros
    • Compact, quiet operation, powered by USB from a computer, convenient software, the ability to make copies, low price.

    Great product, best quality.

Impressions are the best. Please set the supplied software (output format, resolution, compression rate, etc.) before operation. To select resolutions over 600 dpi and more flexible scan post-processing settings, use ScanGear's advanced mode. Scans at a resolution of 600 dpi or 1200 dpi are free from scanning artifacts, like the closest competitor in the same price category (read the reviews for that device).

    Pros
    • Small size - slightly larger than A4, the scanner will fit even in a pull-out desk shelf. No mains power required (powered by USB). Excellent scan quality. The white balance is set well. The image is scanned not in a few shuttle steps, but in one continuous pass (not like some competitors) and quickly. The cover is non-removable, but has a Z-design that allows you to scan books of medium thickness. Scans to all required formats: pdf, jpg, png, tiff. There is a custom post-processing of images. Ideal for home. Inexpensive.
    Cons
    • For scans of photos, pictures or documents, they simply do not exist. To scan books with a deep binding, you need a scanner with a CCD sensor for a greater depth of field of the image, but this is already a completely different weight, size and, most importantly, money .

Second-rate product, won't buy it again.

scans crookedly, no matter how I tried to orient the page position on the tablet field, it still scans crookedly, such an effect could be observed on old faxes, when each letter danced, the whole line dances here, while the page borders are set evenly, even if you try to compensate for the angle, this is does not help, for a long time I could not understand what was the matter. it turns out that this is a design flaw, there is a rail in the middle and probably there are large gaps in the design

    Pros
    • one wire required for connection
    Cons
    • The disk with the drivers and the program loaded for half an hour, I did not find the program on the Internet, so I had to look for an optical drive to load from the disk. program for work incomprehensible work with pdf horror the scanner scans crookedly, which is very striking

The product does not match the description, poor quality.

the bundled software does not contain any document recognition program Different pros: lightweight, compact, no separate power supply required - powered by USB there is a built-in simple pdf editor, when scanning, you can remove moire, and "align" the slope of the document, turn the document over, using the appropriate options, though all by reducing the scanning speed. You can assign third-party programs to the scanner's buttons using the supplied utility. In particular, you can add a mail…

Not compatible with Mac as advertised

I should have heeded another review that warned me thought I might find out but no. I don't know about Windows, but this thing works on macOS. no Work. General. Tried with multiple Macs (made between 2011 and 2018), multiple versions of macOS (10.2, 10.13 and 10.14), multiple scanning software (Photoshop, VueScan and Canon's own downloaded IJ Scan utility) and multiple cables (bundled and my own ). The scanner is sometimes recognized as a connected device. But it doesn't scan or preview at all.

    Pros
    • Special offer
    Cons
    • Very expensive

    MacOS driver crashing

I installed the latest driver and connected the scanner to my Mac running 10.13.6. The scanner will warm up and confirm that the port has power. The IJ Scan utility recognizes the scanner but cannot scan. The /var/log/system.log file shows errors related to LIDE driver failure. Not ready or not used with Mac.

    Works with IMAC with Mojave

I have a late 2013 IMAC with Mojave. I was able to connect it to the MAC and use the native "Image Capture" program located in the Applications folder. Don't forget to set the "Unlock" switch to "Unlock" when you first receive the scanner, or it won't work right away out of the box (I think it's locked to protect the scanning camera during to protect the shipment). After realizing that the switch was stuck, the scanner worked fine. I got it to scan some old photos onto my computer and needed…

    Works great - scanner

Just tried this LiDE 400 scanner on my laptop with Windows 7 64-bit and Canon software downloaded. Everything I've tried so far works flawlessly. Based on another review, I scanned the punch side and the scan was error free. I scanned photos at 600 dpi and it worked fine (that's the max of scanning software). I don't know how to get those canon claims at 4800dpi. Cable standard USB-USB-c. I've tried using the scanner with a different cable than the one that came with it (cell phone cable) and…

Works great on flatbed and photo scanners

This scanner is great. Canon software is easy to download and use. On the plus side, you can add more pages as you scan a document, and the program saves it as a multi-page PDF file. It's also lightweight; I keep it between the table and the wall and just pull it out, plug it into my laptop, scan it and plug it back in. It doesn't take up space on a table or shelf. Highly recommended.

    • Pleasant to use
    Cons

    Terrible color accuracy!

Worst scanner I have ever used. Images are blurry to the point where you can't bring brightness back. I scan them into Photoshop and need to get the red to 100% color balance before it's even remotely accurate colors.

    TWO AND A HALF STARS.

I received this scanner, downloaded the online manual for it and tried to read the manual. I think the instructions should have been written better. I'm sure the people who wrote the guide know the subject well. However, I think a newbie who has never used a comparable device needs and deserves more explanation. Now to the scanner itself. I had no problems installing it (my computer is running Windows 10) and the scanner works. However, when I scan color photos in color mode, the scanner I got…
