This speaker is a real gem. You won't find a better speaker for this price. I was skeptical about how good this speaker would sound because it's so cheap and had never really heard much about the Cerwin Vega center channels. I got an older CV with two 5 1/4" woofers which is also surprisingly good. Based on that I decided to try sl45c. Cerwin-Vega SL-15 15" 3-Way Tower Floorstanding Speakers In my humble opinion I don't think you will need a subwoofer with them so save up money in the long run if you install a 2 channel system. You can look at the specs on these speakers and from what I've read there is no reason why they can't be used to listen to all types of music.
