Poor abrasion resistance; Coating wears off very easily

Very nice cable. Inner insulation and copper conductors are of high quality. But the outer woven shell has almost no abrasion resistance. When converting an antique lamp with new cord from this cord, the woven covering, which arrived intact, frayed in just a few minutes it took me to assemble the lamp. Obviously it doesn't age well when used as a cord that moves, rests on the ground or isn't well protected in any way. The cable is nice, but for my application (and those it's listed for) it's…

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • No instructions

The product itself is of high quality. If there was a ground wire it would be perfect. See my photo. I had to rewire the pendant light because I needed a longer cord. On the right of the photo is the original lamp (Ikea lamp for $40), on the right is this product. When I realized there was no ground wire I consulted an electrician and while there is a workaround it is complicated and should be left to a qualified electrician. From what I've learned I can't believe people are making tube lamps…

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model

Looks good, but that's where the fun stops.

I only give this cable 2 stars because it looks good! After that, the services end. It is difficult to work with this line. First, he's too fat! The cords I work with are usually less than 5mm in diameter. This cord has a diameter of 6.25 mm. And not flexible at all. It's like bending a cable. And I'll tell you why The two insulated wires required for the connection are surrounded by a very thick hard insulation. 6mm is much larger than any hole in standard wire cutters. I had to try and use a…
