I am renovating some of the Ethernet backbones in my house and home/office and need reliable and eco-friendly Power over Ethernet switches for my garage. I know this seems like a weird place, but I need to set up a Ubiquity WiFi hotspot and some PoE cameras in this part of the house, and the garage is the easiest place to connect them all. For our indoor units, this is simple enough, but the outdoor cameras will either have to all go back to the switch, increase the number of wires running inside-out, or rely on a different power source (if we're using a non-POE weatherproof switch). ). After trying a few devices that claim to be outdoor powered, mains powered, etc, I've finally found a device that takes care of all these devices. I even lost a couple of cameras before getting these to just plain rain. This of course worked in light rain and heavy downpours with fairly gusty winds. Now all my POE cameras work fine and go through this little box before entering my house.
