I've had mine for about 2 years now. It was more accurate initially (never accurate but close enough - see other reviews mentioning the same thing) but now it's not even close enough, even with new batteries. That's at least 10-20 degrees from my thermostat reading. Defeat the whole purpose of the thermometer gauge. I bought it because it was the nicest of them all and had good reviews but it should have lasted over 2 years. Here to buy another. This goes in the trash. Sigh.

This thermometer is beautiful to look at, easy to read from a distance and doesn't take up too much space. I have placed a mercury thermometer/hygrometer next to it which I know is absolutely accurate. The temperature of this device is accurate but slow as mercury. Good humidity monitor for people on a budget. Pretty accurate and lets me know when the humidity is going up or down over the winter months. We bought this product to keep an eye on our humidifier. We didn't know if it was too much or too little and sometimes woke up with a sore throat from the dry northeast winter.
