I needed a gate to go across a 42 inch hallway. This came with various adapter units and the middle one worked perfectly. Make sure to put the bottom pieces that sit flat on the floor before you put it in, I don’t and had to redo it but it was easily remedied since I didn’t cut the plastic tie ( you need scissors to assemble ✂️). I purchased two of these gates to close off the entrances to the living room, predominately to keep our dogs out. I faced the instructions with a little in trepidation as the instructions were not completely clear, not clearly presenting the last steps of installation. I had help with the first one more for a sanity backup than anything else. It installed easily and is very sturdy. The second I was able to install completely on my own. I'm very pleased with the gates.

We ended up buying two of these gates (one to block off the foyer area and another one for the kitchen area). I was concerned about the stability of the gates since we needed to swap the extension pieces due to the width of our entryway openings. Thankfully it worked out well! The first gate we bought was much cheaper and it was a nightmare! We followed the directions exactly and after 2-1/2 hours and it not lining up properly , threw the parts back in the box and returned it. My 11 month old can tug and shake against the bars and the pressure mount doesn't budge. I like that there is a screw in option as well if that's needed in the future. We've taken it up and down a few times and once you know how to, it's quick and easy!

The product was easy to install and is very sturdy. I love how the gate automatically shuts behind you but also has an option to keep it open.

I originally ordered this gate in the shorter length and found it was too small for my opening. I repurchased in this larger size and it looks great. I knocked one star off for sturdiness because my toddler (18 months) is able to shake it a bit, but for now, it will definitely keep him out of our office. I purchased it in the black color and it looks pretty chic. Glad I went with this one!

We purchased a different gate that was falling apart in the first few days. So I found this one and I am so happy! It not only looks good but works great!

This product is good but not great and here is why: Great for a smaller opening, bad for a larger opening. I set it up on a 51" opening so almost max size and it started to bow immediately, I don't believe this would be an issue if the opening was smaller. I used some wood glue, wood and duct tape and it's solid now. That being said I would probably buy a different gate if I had a larger opening. Hope this helps

We tried several gates for our very wide stairs and they either weren't sturdy enough when expanded as wide as our stairs or were inconvenient to handle. We initially bought this for when our grand puppy came over to keep her away from our cat, but now it is also used for the grandchildren! It was hard to find a gate that was wide enough for this opening, but sturdy & didn’t look tacky. It is child & pet proof, but easy to open for adults. We would suggest getting the bumper guards to protect your wall from the fasteners. I would definitely buy again. We’ve now had it two years- I just wanted to take a picture of it to include in the review.

Im not good normally at installing things like this - this was SO easy to install. It works great to keep my nieces away from the stairs AND to keep the dog off the carpet. This was a great buy!

After going through several gates, this gate was just what I needed. This gate was easy to assemble and install. The ability to have a wide length variation was perfect because the spot I installed it in was 47 inches long. The gate is sturdy. My favorite part is that it auto closes behind you if you open it wide enough.

Easy to install. I’m using tension only since I’m leasing my townhouse. It is super easy to open and close. My 35lbs puppy has been leaning ALL over it and it hasn’t budged. Worth every penny!

This gate took a few tries at configuring to get just the right size for the wide area we bought it for. I did not consider the baseboards when I measured before ordering, therefore we had to install it right above baseboard for it to fit snuggly; we are using pressure installation rather than screws.
