Literal trash. for hard drive accessories

Didn't work with my Samsung NVMe m.2 2TB drive. Just warmed up. Revain refunded my money with no refund so it was summarily thrown in the bin. Later I bought another m.2 adapter that worked. Save time and money (and headaches) and look elsewhere.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Great little case!

If you need a small external SSD, this is a great way to build one on the cheap. Just buy your own M.2 SATA SSD and put it in this enclosure. Will, you have a USB3 based SSD. Now they can also make a USB-C version, but my machine is too old for all that, so I went with this model.

Pros
  • Great Design
Cons
  • Interval

USB3 ports often don't deliver enough power to power any of the four SSDs I tested. After carefully reviewing the power requirements, I found that most SSDs require more power than the 900mA that my 2017 Surface or 2016 Shuttle can provide. Some newer USB3 connectors may have more, but I haven't found them.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Expandable

Great for SSDs

I used this to upgrade the SSD in my Lenovo Yoga from 256GB to 1TB. I loaded 1TB into the enclosure and cloned the existing drive. Then I swapped them and now I have a 256GB portable SSD in my case. I only gave it four stars because nothing told me which end I had to unscrew to allow the board to slide out. Once I figured that out and followed the instructions to install the 1TB drive, things went really well.

  • New

Great value! in hard drive cases

What a nice gadget. Pop in your old laptop's SSD and voila - all your data is exactly the same as it was on the old computer! I suppose some people would use this as a backup drive. For me it's just a great way to salvage all my old files after coffee ruined my laptop and it wouldn't boot. I hooked it up to this little device, plugged it into my USB port and voila, I'm back in business. For this money quite acceptable quality and redemption.

Pros
  • That's great
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Basic enclosure m.2 SATA SSD.

Bought to upgrade laptop SSD. Pulled out original factory installed SATA m.2 drive from Thinkpad T460s. In this case, I installed a solid state drive. I have connected the case to various computers running Win 10 via USB. I managed to read the contents of the disks. The t460s laptop was then updated with a fresh operating system installation using an nvme m.2 drive. I was able to copy the original content back to t460. I was also able to copy it to a portable USB stick. Memory (stick/hard…

Does what it does best in Computers & Accessories

I've ordered MANY external hard drive kits in the past but this was my first M.2. The package arrived quickly and undamaged and contained the external drive enclosure which also includes an integrated drive bracket, a USB 3.0 cable, a small Phillips screwdriver and mounting screws (one for use and one for spare). There were no instructions in my box, but if you've been using computer supplies for a while, you should. You should be able to figure out how to set it up and use it fairly quickly…

It works as advertised.

I replaced my old m.2 drive with a new, larger one (128GB to 1TB) but wanted to keep the old drive as a backup. In this case, I inserted a new drive to clone the old drive. The biggest problem I had was just removing the plastic piece from the front of the case. You have to unscrew the front and then push through using the USB as a power source. I felt very uncomfortable doing this, so I had to pry off the front with a knife. It would have been better if the front had some sort of latch or…
