A review from a guy who doesn't stop at 330 vs directions. I5

Received a few weeks ago. My wife and I both agreed that this would reduce our arguments by 50%. We then started arguing about who should work on this thing and she yelled at me for using it while driving. I will only share what I have learned while researching the product. (I really only looked at Garmin on price and reputation.) A few differences between this and the Garmin I series. The 330 has a battery and a touch screen compared to the I-Series (2) AA and a jockey wheel. Both use AC…

Good if you pay the used price for it.

. Unfortunately, it turns out that a GPS that has been used elsewhere and then sat unused for a long time (in the seller's warehouse) will take some time and effort to get it working again. So it wasn't available early in my trip when I needed it most. It was not charged at all and could not track satellites. No use until I got to my destination where I could charge it overnight and let it run in front of the car (inside the house) so it determines its new location. The related FAQ is "Why…

garmin c330 vs magellan rm760

i tested this after using the rm700 on a trip from new jersey to california about 9 months ago. What I liked about rm700 is that it sounded right when it was your turn. This came in handy when we got caught in a white snow storm in Wyoming and had to leave. Our only clue to turning was the bell and that pretty much saved us. otherwise we would have hit the curbs trying to veer off the freeway. I was pretty well set up with the rm700 but wanted to try out Garmin just for fun. Benefits for…

Pros
  • constant test results
Cons
  • could have chosen a newer model

Well, I will not give a super technical analysis of the pros and cons. You can read 2xx other reviews for it. I will say this: c330 is an excellent device for a damn low price (299 shipped!). You just take it out of the box and it's ready to use. First, I've never had GPS gear. Although more expensive models like the c340 speak street names and the nuvi 350 is no bigger than a deck of cards, the c330 has everything a GPS novice needs to get around town or the countryside. USA and Canada are…
