Inexpensive but quality replacement gas cap

It's a gas cap so I don't really like it other than it fits my 2010 Honda Civic perfectly but is 1/10th the cost of an OEM replacement . In use for a few months, no problems and no more check engine lights.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Mostly good but...

Fits perfectly **Date** **

Better than the original, Wrong! The original gas cap worked as expected, this fake gas cap fits, but doesn't "do" anything else, so don't expect your error message to go away. Went to a Honda dealership and now my car runs like a dream (which cost me almost forty bucks).

Bad market cap

Bad market cap. Unfortunately, this doesn't properly seal the Honda's system to create a sealed exhaust system. The light hasn't gone out. I had to take the car to a workshop, inspect it and replace it with an official Honda cover. Absolute waste of money and time.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Yes, it's a gas cap!

This is a gas cap that does the job! My check engine light didn't go out, but it's not the gas caps! I was trying to find a quick fix before spending $$$ at the dealer while they try to find an air leak somewhere in the system. The game was worth it, so no complaints! Anyone need a lightly used gas cap lol?!

Pros
  • Probationary period for one year
Cons
  • Some defects

Exact fit on 2009 Honda CR-V gas tank

I haven't had any problems with fuel but the cable or anchor neck didn't fit. The threads on this Gates cap mate perfectly with the tank but do not mate with the "hanger" on the gas cap. I had to use pliers to pry the hanger open so I could hang the lid while filling. I like doing this so I don't forget the hat later.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Cleanliness

Check engine light, repair

Great gas cap! I've had a check engine light for a year. I've read that replacing the gas cap can fix the problem. I was skeptical that something so simple could fix the problem, but when I had to take the car for an inspection to get it registered I decided to give it a try. I disconnected the battery before resetting the light and replaced the cap. The light still hasn't come on, it's been a month now.

Will not fit 2007 Volkswagen Beetle 2.5L

Don't waste time buying this 2007 Volkswagen Beetle 2.5L Fuel Tank Cap. I entered all the information about my car and it was confirmed as the correct part. But when I tried to install it I found that it wasn't for my machine. Couldn't even push the black part past the exit area, which is tight enough to screw into the hole. I think I should go to Volkswagen and pay the price. Got an instant refund so customer service was fast!

Almost identical to the original

Bought for a 2002 Ford Focus SE. There is a slight difference in the lettering on the front, but otherwise it is visually identical. Not sure if the internals are the same or not, but it worked like a charm. As one seller noted, it can be attached to your car by a cord, but to do this you need to take a screwdriver and pull out the clips around the perimeter. You have to be careful with this because once you take it off all the innards are just loose there (there are check valves, gaskets and…

No more check engine light!

I have a 2007 Honda Accord and the check engine light kept coming on when I filled up. The light never came on at any other time except when I was refueling. My friend pressed the lid and twisted it tight and the light went out. So I knew it was time for a new gas cap. I checked out Revain and settled on this one. It came quickly and I changed them. After replacing the gas cap, the light is no longer! The only thing that could have improved the situation was the cord that attached the gas cap…

  • There are other interesting options.
