Simple and it worked! - Water pump

easily installed and looked exactly as it should. It fits my 2003 Prius and works great once installed. All the lights on the dashboard went out, meaning everything is working as it should.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • slightly torn

Video from YouTube was used for installation

Worth every penny. After researching and installing the pump and preparing the reverse coolant pump system and watching a few YouTube videos, all the lights on the dash went out.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Something different

OEM Mechanic Part

I bought this because I know my car needs it after checking the engine code. I'm NOT a mechanic, but I don't want a mechanic charging me extra for a part I could buy myself. He installed it and said everything was fine.

Pros
  • Permanent Test Results
Cons
  • Modern

So far so good in the water pump

Replaced 3 months ago and no problems so far. I replaced the engine coolant valve assembly and I strongly encourage you to replace this pump at the same time. They're right next to each other and if you're changing the coolant valve, it's most likely because it's sticking. Too bad I didn't do it at the same time.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • A little small

Bad copy of the original pump

The pump worked and was quiet for about a day. After bleeding and filling and plenty of time to get to it. After the car had been running for a while, it started humming until it quieted down a few days later. I didn't send it back because of the low price. I ended up buying AutoZone's best pump. It's a bit bigger and is open 3 weekends instead of 3 days.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Not sure

I was satisfied with the easy replacement. I did it differently than most videos I've seen that tell you to take the headlight off. I removed the 2 screws on the front of the inverter that attach to the frame above the heatsink. You must first remove the plastic screw mounts to remove the cover for it. Then remove these 2 screws and use a 2x4 or similar to lift and block them. Disconnect the power cable to the pump. Remove the top hose and then the side hose. Make sure you label which is which.

Pros
  • weight
Cons
  • operating speed

Intermittent work is worse than no operation

Seemingly a bargain. I installed it correctly. It worked for a while, then stopped. I tapped it lightly and it started working. Next time it didn't work. About a dozen cycles of turning the machine off and on again. It was about 50% success. 100% of the time when I tapped it it started spinning. What I noticed is that it seemed slow when spinning. As an engineer I will say it has poor torque reserves. Maybe it was just this one, but why risk it? How much is your time worth? I spent time…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
