Description of Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice 2 205/50 R17 93T winter

UltraGrip Ice 2 is a winter tire that will keep your car performing in northern winter conditions. The Goodyear Ultra Ice 2 studless winter tire is the result of three years of hard work, as well as an attempt to close the gap with European competitors in this tire segment. Judging by the first tests conducted by independent specialized media, it turned out to be more than successful, since this model showed a significant advantage over its counterparts that previously occupied the highest steps in various ratings. Most potential buyers will be able to experience the excellent performance of this tire very soon. It is already on sale, and its size range, consisting of 29 standard sizes, provides it with excellent applicability. One of the most notable innovations of this North American novelty is the rubber compound, which the manufacturer''s marketers loudly call "cryo-adaptive". This term, translated into a more understandable Russian language, means that the tire tread remains elastic even at very low temperatures, which in North America are considered to be values exceeding minus 25 degrees Celsius. This was achieved due to the new components of the rubber compound, which gained the ability to maintain elasticity at an optimal level in a very wide temperature range without compromising other equally important characteristics, primarily high-temperature resistance and abrasion resistance. For decades, Goodyear has exclusively produced winter tires with a V-shaped tread design. This model is another step forward in this direction, because it is largely due to the tread pattern that it has surpassed its predecessor in grip on snow and ice. At the same time, most of the innovations were in the central part of the tread pattern. She lost the longitudinal ribs, which gave way to numerous arrow-shaped blocks, stretching from one shoulder area to another. During movement, these tread blocks form many very long grip lips at a significant angle relative to the direction of rotation of the wheel. Here, too, one cannot fail to note the high structural rigidity of these tread elements. This center tread design gives the Goodyear UltraGrip Ice 2 a number of very important qualities. First of all, these are very high traction properties in the longitudinal direction, excellent directional stability, low noise level and rolling resistance. Another innovation of this model was the modified design of the shoulder zones. They contain much fewer individual blocks than their predecessor, which allowed them to increase significantly in size. Combined with the design of the central part, this design feature provides a much more even distribution of the external ...

I like it, thanks for the quality product.

Operating experience - 2 seasons. Skoda Octavia 1.8 205/55/16 What will happen in season 3 - I don’t know, most likely I’ll buy the same one, but wider and taller in size 225/50/17, now it’s a torment of choice, but I can’t find anything better yet, Hakkapelita R3 seems to be not bad but the price is unreasonably high.

Pros
  • Excellent tires, for the first time in winter it felt like you were driving in summer on summer tires. Absolute control, very quiet, very predictable handling, it rows perfectly on solid snow, it also goes perfectly on packed snow. The only thing it can handle is not super - transparent ice, but don't expect miracles here - these are not spikes, but it behaves very worthy on ice. Tread wear is also insignificant, after 2 seasons it looks almost like new. I found only one, but a serious drawback, about it - below.
Cons
  • Every year it loses its effectiveness - the first winter I was delighted. In the second year, the grip became worse, the car began to slip more strongly, the behavior remained the same controlled, but the feeling that you are driving in the summer is no longer there: you start off - axle box, on the highway you press 80 to the floor - axle box, box-box-box. You can ride, but there is no longer such a buzz as immediately after purchase. Also, because of the heap of sipes, pebbles are hammered into the tread, and at the back, where the mass is less (front-wheel drive), I can’t say that this is a direct disadvantage, but it’s not pleasant to pick them out.

In general, I am satisfied with rubber, namely, with all its frictional properties. Most likely, I will ride it like that, especially since I took the same 2 new wheels. It is surprising that immediately 2 wheels with a balance of 50% had to be replaced.

Pros
  • In all respects the tires are excellent. Quiet, comfortable. Resistance to aquaplining, like all winter tires, is average, it is felt immediately after summer tires, but again, it’s very good for winter tires. Rows well in the snow, on frozen asphalt is also not bad if you drive with your head. Since in Hong Kong snow and frost are, in principle, a rarity, I chose rubber for a temperate climate and only Velcro. So these tires allow, in the absence of snow and ice, to move almost as confidently as on summer ones (summer bears pilot sport 4). But they don’t give up on winter roads either. Satisfied. Dimension 225/50/17, stand on Octavia A7, front-wheel drive, 240 hp.

Dissatisfied with this product, bad to use.

In terms of comfort, safety - everything is fine. In terms of wear - I'm not ready to say, but in terms of strength - not for "special" roads (with holes). For a city in the central part - that's it.

Pros
  • It goes well both on "porridge" and on the crust. On ice - there is slight drift in corners
Cons
  • Since I took a car with tires already installed, the tires are not XL - the sides are soft. Once in a hole at a speed of about 40 km / h - "sideways", minus the balloon.

The quality exceeds all expectations, I recommend to buy.

The first season of use has left excellent initial impressions. Good, smooth, and easily balanced tires. There are no hernias, but they keep falling into the pits. I'm satisfied and hope they continue for a very long time. reasonable cost. In September 2022, one tire measuring 205/55/16 was purchased for around 7000.

Pros
  • pleasant soft rubber. It is fairly sturdy on ice and rows effectively in the snow. Excellent braking. Prior to that, I was using BF Goodrich G-Force Winter 2. Overall, I'm happy with the switch. You can buy distributed goods in any retailer. Quite quiet as well. This tire is quieter than the summer Michelin Primacy 4, presumably because of the softer substance.
Cons
  • Identified not.

The quality is at the level, I am satisfied with everything.

For Hong Kong, in principle, the aforementioned Michelin or Goodyear are not important. Choosing again from these two, I would buy Goodyear. Pros: Very good "rowing" in the snow. In this I liked her more than Michelin x-ice 3. Has cons: On ice, like all non-studded tires, "no way. " At 100+ Km/h on pavement, I liked the Michelin x-ice 3 better.

The best purchase in my life, I will definitely buy it again.

In the highway mode, it was enough for 2 seasons, (approximately 50t. Km) there was still a good tread residue, for the spring the most, I sold it with the car. On a new car took the same model without thinking I operate mainly on the M4, MO, Hong Kong highway. Ideal for winter when there is slush or rolled snow under the wheels (in the suburbs)

The best thing Ive ever used, a great item for everyone!

I'm on my second season. For the first season dashed off about 9-10 thousand. Wear is minimal, Wet road, rolled and loose snow keeps excellent. Spikes are probably better on clean ice, but they don’t exist in St. Petersburg, I don’t go out of town in winter, which is why I preferred quiet reliable Velcro to noisy spikes.

An ideal product for any type of consumer.

Excellent tires, skated 3 winters, soft, comfortable, rowing well in the snow, on ice for friction as adequately as possible. No wonder they were among the leaders in the tests at one time. At the same time, they have an adequate cost, which makes the price / quality ratio ideal.

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The product is usable, I expected a bit more.

at a temperature of +5 degrees, at 110 km / h, 2.4 atm. in the tires, the car starts to lose course even in a straight line - it floats, you have to taxi. It is better to go into corners with a margin. Auto - Skoda Kodiak, four-wheel drive, 3 people from the cabin. Braking distance - it's too early to say.

I really like the product, it fully meets my expectations.

I rode spikes my entire life until I traveled to Asia for the winter a few years ago. I ventured to keep my spikes outside all winter. Don't ride spikes in the fall and then go back to St. I'm taken aback because I doubt I'll go back to the spikes in the end. It is obvious that a good, tried-and-true Velcro model is necessary, as is the Velcro alternative for northern winters. Although Ice 2 doesn't work miracles on bare ice, there are no complaints in this instance. and on wet snow that during

The purchase brought only positive emotions.

Bought for a Ford Focus. Love these slippers. I have known Goodyear for a long time. The quality of rubber is always on top. Ice 2 excellent road holding on snow and ice. Does not skid, slow down briskly. In turns, the car does not throw.

A valuable purchase, some advantages!

I rolled the winter of 2022-2022 on this rubber. We stood 2 in front, summer in the back. Winter this year is just OK. Auto new Lada Vesta. I chose either Nokian or Continental, I bought Gudir and never regretted it.

Just super, it's beautifully made, I'm very happy with it.

GoodYear UltraGrip Ice 2 Mercedes V-Klasse 220CDI (163 hp) rear wheel drive GoodYear UltraGrip Ice 2 in size 225/55R17 XL There is suchrubber on the kio seed - everything is almost the same as on the Mercedes, with slight adjustments for the drive of the front seed - more precisecomntrol and behavior in porridge and turns. Its pros: Excellent rubber, for Velcro with very good performance Snow is great Slurry, snow porridge - excellent Ice start from a place - excellent Ice stop - averages Cons

The first Velcro after many good tires on the tires! I have not regretted it once! I switched from Nokian Hakka 8 and what I immediately noticed was complete silence! In short, all the buzz I recommend to everyone With its pros: 1. Very quiet tires! 2. According to the first impressions over 500 km, it holds very well on all surfaces from dry to ice under snow! 3. Predictably slows down. 4. Excellent responsiveness to taxiing! Cons below: While they are not there! Except for a little deception!

Valuable purchase, nothing but pluses!

After 5 years of operation, one wheel broke, I bought a fresh pair and put it on the front axle. Runs per year are small, but on this rubber 50t. Km accurately noted and it does not give up. It is not erased in positive temperatures, although it is soft. Pros: wear resistance Performs well in near-zero temperatures Does not tan in the cold Rowing in the snow Cons below: On bare ice, you need to slow down with a margin, this is not a spike. Although there was experience with 2 spikes before, the

Hi all. Very long chose tires size 215/60 R60. Before that, there were bears, kontik, ecohama. I looked through a bunch of reviews and tests about all the presented tires, as a result, the choice fell on this model. The tires are excellent, there is no snow porridge, on ice with adequate pressure on the pedal, the car starts off at 5+, digs in the snow with a bang, there is no rut for it. Brakes on clear ice is also excellent (if you have a head on your shoulders) Rulitsya excellent, everything

Pros
  • Excellent grip in any weather - snow, rain, slush, ice. The track passes perfectly, does not feel. Rubber is great.
Cons
  • 1. Consumption has increased by 0.5-1 liter, but this is not a problem. 2. Perhaps the price, for a set of 4 tires I gave 27
