Definitely a German Grohe part for me

I don't know about you but what I got is absolutely Grohe made in Germany. Big instructions. Grohe box. It couldn't be easier to replace, the instructions say you pull the handle, then hand screw then use a 17mm wrench to MAX. Tighten to 40Nm. If you don't have a torque wrench, 40 Nm isn't much (less than 30 ft-lbs). Maybe some of those reporting leaks are overreacting?

Pros
  • Great overall specs
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

Bullshit but huge savings on Revain

I don't understand how plumbing stores can charge $50 for this simple device. I also don't understand why people think Grohe is such a big and quality deal when these parts wear out within 5 years. I had the same early burnout on my Grohe shower and kitchen sink. For this reason, although the performance and feel are excellent, I will never buy a Grohe again. How bad can Kohler, Delta, etc. be?

Pros
  • 1 Year Trial
Cons
  • Updates Available

Grohe valve in rough plumbing

I do not believe that this is a genuine Grohe product. It fits and works well, but when installing, be careful not to mix up the order of parts such as the rubber washer and dual ceramic valves. To avoid this there is a plastic cover on the bottom, when the cover is removed everything falls out. Therefore, the entire fitting must be removed by turning it upside down and installed after removing the plastic cap, otherwise it will not work properly.

Pros
  • It's all right!
Cons
  • Obsolete

Works great in faucet parts

I bought these Grohe valves to install in a 1970's Grohe 2 valve fill in kitchen faucet. This was the easiest repair ever. The new valves fit perfectly, just screwed in. You no longer have to buy special Grohe washing machines every year. Mom now has the best design and castings from her old Grohe faucet with near-reliable ceramic valves. The best part is that I won't be disassembling the valve every year to replace those incredibly expensive Grohe washing machines. Yes!

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Defects

Not a Grohe part for cartridges

Bought both hot and cold side handles. 1 day after installation, the cold side started leaking through the spout (the handles flowed until the bars were replaced). Soon the drop turned into a steady stream. After calling a plumber who couldn't fix the problem, I went to my local plumbing shop and confirmed my suspicions. The handle that was sold to me in the store was packaged in a box with the Grohe brand printed on it, and the handle itself was stamped 'Grohe' and 'Germany'. This vendor'sโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Low repairability

German engineering at its finest

So all of a sudden my Grohe kitchen faucet started leaking on the hot water side. Luckily 10 years ago I saved the brochure that came with the faucet and got the part numbers. It turned out that Revain had a connection to the valve(s). I ordered both the left and right side just to have it. Pulling the valve out was a problem at first - the handle needs to be strong. First turn off the water, then unscrew the small plug at the top of the water pen and loosen the screw that holds it in place. Iโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Pleasing
Cons
  • Good but not great
