It took a little effort to stretch it to the desired size. Each end has grommets that attach to small hooks on the underside of the board. I'm writing this review based on reviews I've read about velcro not holding lining etc. I'm also including a photo to show you how it should work. There are two grommets on the wide end that you need to attach to the small hooks on the underside of the ironing board. If you're buying this as a replacement cover, look at your ironing board to see if it has those little "hooks" at the bottom of the wide end. This will secure the cover and smooth out the wrinkles. This is a very difficult fit. When we put down the ironing board, we must first unfasten the Velcro. I guess there are many different styles of over the door ironing boards, but I've never had this problem in the past.
