Household Essentials 80091 Standard Ironing Board Review

Finally replacing our old ironing cover. Bought a silver plated case which I think speeds up the ironing process as it seems to reflect heat. Great fit. Nice and tight. No need for a center strap.

The quality of the fabric itself is poor and the finish is a bit rough. I iron every morning and need a finish that allows you to move the shirt while ironing. With this padding, I had to lift my shirt to move it. Although I rarely return anything, I sent this one back!

I ordered a color called 'Bliss' which was blue with flowers but received 'Flower Power' with orange and green butterflies instead. It even said "Bliss" on the box. Strange. However, it fits my board perfectly and is of much better quality than what I had before. I like it without lace.

The fabric has a weird and cool pattern, enough padding and the elastic that holds it up is wonderful. The surface of the fabric is not smooth, so it touches the fabric of the item to be ironed. The good thing is that the clothes don't slip off, the bad news is that they are difficult to move and straighten before ironing.

When I managed to ruin our first ironing board cover I ordered this one thinking it would be a good investment at a great price. I wanted something strong enough to use but not very expensive as we don't iron that often. The case itself has a gray top with an elastic cord on the sides to keep it in place. Underneath is a loose layer of foam. There are no cross straps to keep it on the board and no foam attached to the top. I'd love to tell you how it works, but unfortunately I didn't manage to…
