Not suitable for sanding blocks

I'm a woodworker and need a sanding block that will hold paper. This is almost impossible to use. Three hands are required to make it usable. Waste of money as a supplement too.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Mostly ok, but...

Very convenient. - Hand tool

I used to have a sanding pad like this but I lost it so I was very happy to find this one. I like it a lot more than wrapping sandpaper around a block of wood. Tip: Put packing tape on the back of your sandpaper and it will last much longer and not fall apart.

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Almost never

Cheap cheap cheap - grinding blocks

This is an unnecessary sanding block. It is difficult to load sandpaper, and there is a honeycomb pattern on the bottom of the "flat" surface, which prevents all the sandpaper from being used effectively. I wish I had paid a little more. Well, live and learn. You shouldn't come back.

Pros
  • handy thing
Cons
  • The list is long.

Extremely Difficult to Open Ends

I couldn't open the ends far enough to insert sandpaper no matter how many times I tried. With the extra maneuvering and holding onto the sandpaper while prying the unit open, this was completely impossible. I found a plastic model that is more convenient to use.

Excellent sanding block

Excellent sanding block. Fits well in the hand and is easy to process. Changing the sandpaper is very quick and easy by simply lifting the edges up a bit. Holds the Prince in place and doesn't lose grip while grinding like some blocks do. Definitely not a bad block to work with all day. Very quick and easy delivery with no damage.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Not safe

It won't fit 1/4 " sanding sheets.

Hard rubber sanding block. It holds the sandpaper in place well, but I had a hard time fastening it with nails. Sent back due to size. It says you can use it with 1/4" sanding sheets. The 1/4" thick sheet metal barely fits the sides but isn't long enough to be nailed inside.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance

Not very good for sanding, but a pretty good doorstop.

I wish I had read the FAQ before ordering. You can't stretch the paper so it doesn't work well. Design also wastes about half your paper. Not as efficient as with a piece of wood. I haven't found a better system than buying a 5" stick on a sanding wheel and various wood shapes and then just a stick and sand. You can crop if you need special size. This block is difficult to load and takes a lot of time. .

Pros
  • Wrap paper around the bottom of the block for sanding flat surfaces
Cons
  • No automatically

Works well but does not fit 1/4 " thick sandpaper

Sander works well. It's a heavy piece of plastic and lends itself well to sanding. that the manufacturing description states that 1/4 size sandpaper sheets are required. It's not like this. If you really want to attach a piece of metal-tipped sandpaper to the flat side of the sander, the sandpaper needs to be at least 6 3/4 inches long. Obviously it needs to be a bit longer if you want to use the curved side. It's not a big deal, but I wanted a sanding block that could be used with pre-cut…

Pros
  • Fits 1/4" sandpaper
Cons
  • Large and bulky

nice little block in Power & Hand Tools

I agree that paper was very difficult to put down at first. The rubber tabs were so stiff that it took a while to remove the packaging. The paper is held in place by three nails on each side, so not only can you lift the flaps a little, you have to lift them just enough for the paper to peel off the nails. I thought my first job would be impossible without four hands. However, after about a dozen uses, the rubber seems to have softened and now it's a little easier to lift the flaps and I've…

Pros
  • All purpose wet or dry sanding block
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
