Exactly what I needed.

I bought a used Fleetwood camper and the front window stone guard didn't hold up so the previous owner used a stick to support it in the open position. Now I feel great. Haha Napa wanted $35+ for a bar. Time will tell if they hold up.

Great improvement to the RV compartment door

I bought these 20 inch 20 lb gas springs for Cougar 5 wheel coupe doors along with mounting brackets because weak latches holding my 21 x 59 doors , constantly broke. should have done this many years ago, they are a good size and work great.

Pros
  • Nice look
Cons
  • Some small things

Good quality item

Item as described. Bought these to replace our old worn one on the front door of our camper van. Used it for the first time today and it worked great. I wasn't sure how many # spacers to order, but those 20# seem to be the ticket to our RV's front door. Time will tell how it stands the test of time. If for any reason we run into problems I will post another review.

These lasted for a while

Bought for the door of our caravan. The brace prevents the door from swinging in the wind. These funds are not used every day. I only needed one, but you have to buy them in pairs. The first one tore off the seal after a few months (one or two rides). I felt good that I had a backup. But he collapsed on the second day of the first campaign. The tip broke when opening the door.

correct size and strength, wrong fixings

They come with a standard clamp which attaches the ball joint which in turn attaches to the vehicle. The 2008 GX470 hood braces have built-in ball joints - they thread into nuts that are securely welded to the hood and body. So yes they will fit but you will need to order a 10mm ball mount at the same time. Considering that the hood weighs a lot, you should consider ordering with a locking mechanism.

Received used goods!

When I received it I tried to install it but the plug closest to the threshold didn't connect. At first I got it working, but I found it too strong for an RV door. I have emailed Red Hound Auto and they have not responded. At this end, the clasp kept popping up. Upon closer inspection, I saw that the butt was scratched and the latch was dislodged. I sent the "defective/used" cap back and was able to find a new replacement elsewhere. Yes, it's a bit more expensive, but it's worth the effortโ€ฆ

Not suitable. in spare parts

First they took forever to get here. They said they delivered but they came just a week after saying he was here. Well there is no problem. Some take longer due to Covid etc. I installed it on my snap-on toolbox and it held the lid perfectly. Very strong attitude. At the end of the day I closed the lid of the box but it wouldn't close. The kickstand is too long and doesn't allow the lid to close completely. I had to remove the rack, fish the old one out of the bin and install it before goingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Some difficulties

I bought this spacer for the door on my RV. Our last caravan had a door stand and we found it very useful. When we got the camper the door was very annoying. It was either swaying in the wind, or if it was wide open you had to go outside to open it, or if it wasn't locked it was still difficult to get to. So I did a little research and found that 20 inches is 20 pounds. This is the right size for the door. I installed it in our RV and it was one of the most useful upgrades I've ever made. Theโ€ฆ
