Easy leverage, easy tool change, strong ferrules.

The interchangeable die system is easy to use, but try not to use the head as a hammer or it may jam. There are different sizes of dies that come in the kit and you change them by turning the teeth in the head, pretty cool system. The connection is really strong, but it doesn't require the strength of ten people to press the fittings against the cable. You can do this with one hand if you absolutely have to. It's also quite durable, but again, try not to use it as a hammer. After all, it is a…

Handles too short for lever

so 25.00. good deal for the price to be sure. Quality looks good, solid construction. I work in a car stereo shop, so I crimp dozens of 0ga terminals every few days. The handles are too short to hand crimp anything over 8 ga. I had to press mine into the ground and use my body weight to get the crimp. I spend $10 on a hookah and weld it to the included handles. added about 8 inches and now I can crimp 0ga with little effort. Needs modding to be great but it's pretty good for the price.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance

It is necessary! - Hand tool

This crimping tool looks very well made. The ability to change the crimp size without changing inserts is very practical. You no longer have to worry about finding another place to store something else or losing your stamps deep in your tool box. So far I've used them to crimp some 8 gauge copper ring terminals onto 8 gauge wire for the work I was doing and the crimp was very tight. The wire will not fall out of these terminals. I am very happy with my purchase. They are required when working…

Works, but there's a trick

So since it's like a pair of pliers, if they go in at an angle, they'll squeeze the crimp and pinch part of it. The trick is then twisting the crimp and doing it again to compress that part. It's not the prettiest crimp, but it's effective and easy to do. It's also nice to be a hand tool. I have never used hydraulic pliers, many of the reviews I have read on hydraulic pliers say they fail. They're more complex, so it makes sense. It's nice to have their simplicity as they only use leverage as a

This tool looks and feels good. I had to do some experimenting because it .

This tool looks and feels good. I had to experiment a bit because it's not immediately clear what position the pinch rollers are in, as the instructions are unclear on how to do this. I *think* the desired setting should be at the end of the tool, because when I set the jaws the way I first expected, the crimp was too loose to stick to. I was a bit disappointed with the crimp that the tool makes - it fits tight but leaves a smooth edge on one side of the crimp and appears uneven. I covered the…

Super Impressed Well suited for hand tools

20.07.19. I bought them to crimp the ends of the battery cable. We use them for high speed electric karts and before that we soldered them. Due to the amount of heat generated, the solder will not hold, causing them to be pulled out. We then started using hammer pliers, which worked well, but the cables had to be unplugged from the kart to use this device. We found this and honestly I didn't think these pliers would be heavy given the price. I figured we only need to use them a few times a week

Pros
  • Robust construction
Cons
  • Without automatic
