This is a laptop lock under Computers & Accessories

I need to use one of these when I take work home. It protects me from disciplinary action for following my employer's safety rules. However, this product (or any other laptop lock) will not stand up to a determined thief. It can easily be defeated with cheap wire cutters. Even a good tug will do, but it's the laptop's design that will fail, not the lock. I gave it five stars because it does what it was designed to do - prevent theft. Deterrence does not mean prevention, so keep that in mind.

Actually fits a newer Dell machine

Bought a "universal" cable for a laptop which turned out not to be "universal" at all. Returned it and received the exact new Dell laptop model my client had and it works and fits like a charm. When looking for a cable lock for your laptop, always check the size and type of security slot for your model. Lock for Dell. Some Dell models are difficult to lock.

I bought this lock because it was the only one that fit the smaller key cutout on my Dell laptops. When I put the lock in the hole for my Dell XPS 15 it goes in with no problem. However, when I put the lock in the hole for my Dell Latitude 3410, the spring-loaded latch doesn't always close. I have to turn the lock until it reaches the point where the bolt is fully closed to its original position. Then I can lock it. Get a Kensington, but think carefully about the combination against the key!

#1 Take Away – Buy a Kensington Lock! I love this product. But I probably picked the wrong Kensington. The combination wheels are too small for my fingers.
