Description of KEYESTUDIO 4 Channel Relay Shield 5V: Arduino R3, ARM, PIC, AVR, STM32, Raspberry Pi Expansion Board

It integrates 4-channel 5V relay module, and is fully compatible with R3 control board. The 4-channel relay module shield is active at HIGH level. Relay Terminals: high-power, high-current high voltage can be connected to the device. Separately connect the 4-channel relay to digital port 4, 5, 6, 7 on the R3 control board, then through controlling output HIGH or LOW to control the relay on and off. Works great if you don't have an ethernet shield.

I use this shield with original Aduino uno R3. The shield only works well with Uno. However if you have an Arduino ethernet shield like in my photo. Relay number 1 uses pin 4, which is used by the Ethernet shield. So I had to remove the pin and solder pin 4 on the relay board to pin 8 since it's available. Pins 5 6 7 are used by three other relays. I hope they revise the plan so this isn't an issue in the future although I highly doubt it but I messaged Case and they confirmed me. Otherwise it…

Pros
  • Relay Terminals: Powerful, high current, high voltage can be connected to the device.
Cons
  • Periodicity

Works as advertised, EXCELLENT support for product

These features are as advertised. They are attached to pins 4-7 and are not isolated relays. Meets the needs of the application I used it in, great overall! I only have bad things to say about them: Do not route SDA/SCL signals on R3. There are no jumpers to configure which inputs control which relays, it would be nice to have at least one alternative for each, but the rest of the project could be designed around it. it uses the same pins, hence the second problem. If you need to add a relay to

Pros
  • . Connect the 4 channel relay separately to digital pins 4, 5, 6, 7 on the R3 control board and then use the HIGH or LOW control output to turn the relay on - and turn off.
Cons
  • Repair

Missing information from manufacturer

Last update: KEYESTUDIO has added the missing pin/connector information to the description as I originally checked and complained. Pinout information for using the Keystudio 4 Channel Relay Module Shield; The Keyestudio Relay Shield features a built-in 4-channel 5V relay module that is fully compatible with the UNO R3 control board. The 4-channel relay on the shield is active at HIGH level. Connect the 4-channel relay separately to the digital port. 4, 5, 6, 7 on the UNO R3 board, then through…
