Kodak 850 Camera: Point and shoot digital cameras

We haven't used the camera much but it seems to be in good condition. We used to have an 850 camera and loved it so we decided to buy this refurbished camera.

Excellent camera, the best of digital cameras

I tested my new P850 in different conditions: Fog; Rain; candles; cloudy; sunny; narrow space; Landscape . It works great and produces exceptionally clear photos. Functions are simply switched among themselves. Great camera for this price range.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Not sure

It's "oldie " but works well!

I bought this camera for my 9 year old grandson who has expressed an interest in photography. I chose this device because it had both a viewfinder and an LED screen. LED screens are not very good for shooting in bright sunlight. New viewfinder cameras cost nearly $1,000. not the best investment for a beginner!

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Something different

Nice Super Zoom Camera

I've been trawling through long camera reviews looking for a good superzoom. I've narrowed it down to the Panasonic FZ5 or Kodak P850. The Kodak P850 had the best feature set in my opinion. The images are clear and the colors are good. Pros: - Live histogram (I really like this feature) - Good colors and image quality - Natural controls that you quickly get used to - Great feature set - Good image stabilization - Manual focus - Looks nice Cons: - Loud zoom - Loses focus , when zooming Zooming -

Near Pro Kodak P850 Camera

This used camera was purchased to replace my identical Kodak P850 which I bought about four years ago. I found this camera to have exceeded most of my expectations. As a digital camera, it fulfilled the same functions as film SLR cameras. The images I took ranged from close-ups of faces to distant landscapes. The zoom function allowed me to get accurate information about distant objects up to 20 miles away (e.g. Mount McKinley in Alaska). When using the zoom function, it is important to mount…

Great camera!: Camera and photo

I've spent some time comparing different cameras in this class (Canon S2 IS, Sony DSCH1, Fuji S5200) but after going to Best Buy was gone I really stopped with all of them I felt most comfortable with the P850. I was a little nervous as it's been out for a while and doesn't have many professional reviews yet, but it had all the features I was looking for and early user reviews looked good. As far as my photographic history goes, I love to take photos, but I've only ever had regular compact…

I like this camera, but.

I really like this camera. I had a Canon S2 that I sold after seeing my friend's P850. Conclusion: using this camera is much more interesting. The LCD doesn't have the highest resolution, but it's much better than Canon's Rotating LCD 2.0. I'm comparing this to a Canon because I used to have a Canon and that camera is also a benchmark for comparison. I like the battery. I have a camera dock and it's great to just put my camera on it and not have to worry about the battery or charging the…

Great camera! for digital cameras

I have never owned a digital camera. Here are the reasons I chose this amazing camera: 1. Image stabilization (reduces the chance of blurry images), which is especially important when zooming in.2. 12x optical zoom, ideal for portrait photography.3. the ability to use additional filters and lenses with an adapter supplied by Kodak.4. You can choose between using the LCD or optical viewfinder. Turning off the LCD saves battery power. (Most pocket digital cameras don't even have an optical…
