Perfect for a craft table!

I love this band so much! Luckily it came right up to the edge of the sewing/craft table, which is very handy for me because I can use it to scroll around the table (the tape didn't reach the full circumference of only 5.5 inches). As far as I can tell, the measurements are correct. If I had any complaints it would be that I would like it to be easier to cut. but I'm sure if I had the right tool (and not just wire cutters) it would be great. But if you get a good result, it breaks pretty clean.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Big and chunky

It's a bit stiff and you may need someone else to support the cast while you lay it on the surface: I lay it perpendicular side up on a wooden trellis near my /Hobby room. It sticks well and the dimensions are pretty clear. It's a continuous measure, like a tape measure. It also counts every 12 inches of red over black; the smallest measurement is 1/8 inch. I would order it in cm if I think about it. A good product.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Only available in black

Not good for the workbench

The tape is strong, fairly clean, the 3M backing is hard but the mark is erased instantly. Not valid for an item described as suitable for workbenches. I had an old Starrett tape that lasted as long as the old countertop (about 6 years). I swapped out the countertop and bought it 3 weeks ago to replace the old tape. Some of the markings on this tape have already worn off. This is not a full-time pro shop, just a weekend warrior setup. I could see it working great on a sewing table or anywhere…

1/16 " marks throughout, even under 1 foot.

All bands are marked in 1/16" increments, even under 1'. I draw This suggests bands that have markings down to 1/32" in less than a foot area, which I find confusing, especially when there is so much debris around the blade. This is a good band for a busy magazine and should avoid cutting errors to a minimum. The markings are very bold and easy to read, and the unnecessary 'special' markings don't get in the way like some tapes do.The accuracy is very close to the high quality tape measure we…

Nice addition to your desktop.

I now have both metric and ft-inch versions on my workbench. Very handy when I need a rough measurement quickly. Suggestion: see if you can adjust them so the zero hits something. I line them up so they are against the flat edge of my magazine vise. That way I can attach a piece of trim to it and mark the length I want. NOTE: Make sure you order the one that measures LEFT TO RIGHT. A few years ago I ordered a similar tape (maybe from a different manufacturer) and it read the opposite way…

Pros
  • Package Size: 7"L x 4.5"W x 7/8"H
Cons
  • Damaged

A little wider than stated, otherwise great - so far.

I used this rod as a ruler on my drill table. The material and backing are excellent and the marking indicators seem accurate compared to my regular tape measure. Note, however, that the width of this stick is just over 1/2 inch. In my case, I cut a 0.5" diameter groove in the table (just a few millimeters deep) to keep the tape flush with the work surface. While this wasn't too much of a problem, I had to increase the width of the body to fit the size - it's about 13mm wide, not the usual…

Pros
  • Can be cut to length
Cons
  • Expensive
