Nice concept, but not for long.

Received 3 days after purchase, looks great. The legs are wide enough to withstand the wind and can range from a very short 3 1/2 feet to 8 feet, pretty easy to use but the materials feel cheap, stretchy and break easily. I understand it's meant for light reflectors, but you have to be extra careful when putting things on it or it will all go away.

A bargain for the price but room for improvement.

One doesn't really complain about the price, but there is one downside that I don't understand. A strong bracket for a lantern was fitted to the arrow, but a lower quality bracket was used on the tripod where the arrow goes. Instead of being on top of the tube and being tightened, the tripod mount goes into the tube and gets lost giving the feeling of losing the arrow. I'll try to find a way to fix this somehow.

Works well so far for lighting controls and modifiers

It's not the strongest stand and I've only used it once but it's worked so far. My biggest complaint was that it's not massive enough to handle even a light breeze, and using a sandbag doesn't seem to help much. Given that he did a great job when they weren't there for a whiff. I'm worried about how long it will take. If it breaks I'll come back here to change my rating but for now I'm giving it four stars.

There were some caveats but I'm happy with the end result

The connections are plastic so when tightened I felt like I was about to break but it held up perfectly. The sandbag ripped at the top after adding rocks and the tripod began to click when tightened, but then did not stay upright and locked at its highest point with the attached sandbag. This item gets a 5 star rating because it comes with a customer service card that I can use to contact the seller and let them know that my product is defective. They quickly returned my email and gave me a…

it keeps leaning like it's about to fall off the top

Of course it was a cheap part but it boasts that mounting the boom screw side up gives extra security - and this is the other way around. see attached pictures - when I fixed it like this it keeps tipping like it's about to break. The only way I can get the arrow to stay "somewhat balanced" is to attach (plant) it to the side of the open bore and of course use a weighted sandbag. In general, the product should be more stable. I'm disappointed that it doesn't have an end point so I can attach a…

Not heavy duty but very good value for money

I bought five of these stick/stand kits for advanced film students. One of the five came with a broken hinge where the legs attach to the stand and the seller was quick to replace this set. All of our kits came with a plastic grip in addition to a fairly flimsy bar mount that attaches to the boom. I would recommend using a crank instead of a stand mount if you are putting something heavier than a paper lantern on the end of an arrow. I managed to snap the handle off my grip when a gust of wind…

Great stand at an affordable price

Works like a charm. Easy to set up and use. It's light, so in windy weather it might want to fly away, but in one instance I had this problem, I just made the stand heavier. The stand and armrest are not thin. They're not heavy either, but I wasn't expecting them for the price. On the contrary, they turned out better than I expected. They're pretty strong too. I can actually use it with my reflector indoors with nothing but the included weight bag to counterbalance it. It's precariously…

Great reflector stand at a bargain price!

This is an inexpensive stand but well built for my video work. I added a hook with a screw end for the counterweight bag when using a large 43" round reflector. I ordered a 43" Neewer Multipurpose Reflector separately which works well with this stand. This stand didn't have a tote bag, but I had one from another project. It would be nice if they included the bag but you have to order it for $5. Revain lists several zippered and strapped pockets that work well. On the tripod you can make all…

The base is not very high quality and not very durable, but it holds up.

This is a decent light reflector mount at a reasonable price. It's a bit flimsy and I'm not sure if it will stand up to daily use and abuse, but the reflector does the job for casual shooting when I need to use reflectors. The tripod appeared to be on a hovercraft and the locks worked well and kept it from falling over. The base is not high-quality and not heavy-duty, but withstands the necessary weight of the hand and the reflector, so that's enough. You will definitely want to use sandbags…
