Description of 🔒 Heavy Duty Locking Suspension Compressor by MacPherson

IDEAL FOR MOST VEHICLES: This heavy-duty spring compressor tool set by Orion Motor Tech repairs bent and damaged parts and performs the necessary suspension maintenance (recommended every 50-80,000 miles) on the MacPherson struts and springs found in most small and medium-sized cars. SAFE & STABLE GRIP: The wide end pieces lock on to your coil springs quickly and easily and keep a secure hold as you work, with locking pins offering additional security and precision. This is a quality product

Low cost allowed me to spend money on better suspension components. My efforts to remake entry-level shock absorbers and struts will no longer be repeated. Start by adding lube to the threads and checking the position of the tool as I did to make sure it's working properly. The only drawback was the lack of a hard case. It was sold as if it was intended for a tool box. I made a wooden hanging box to put it in.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Sufficient but probably needs a different type of compressor

I have used them on a BMW with M sport suspension. It was possible to compress the springs, but I found it difficult to compress the spring evenly and not interfere with the bumpers. As a result, it was difficult to properly install the spring in the coil component above the assembly. On the plus side, the compressors don't warp and the threads hold up well with just a small amount of anti-seize paste. I've never found it unsafe. I suspect the compressors would be better on typical compact…

Worked as it should

I used this to make luggage racks for a 1989 Toyota Camry. I found the tool wide enough for the springs. I was able to grab enough of the spring to compress it. It took me a few tries to position the spring compressor correctly. I used a 1/2 stroke to compress the spring. Better eat your wheat flakes if you don't have them. It is best to clamp the entire rack assembly in a vise. I don't know how effective backup pins are in case of failure. The tool has served its purpose. I divided the tooling

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Great price
