The best, lasts forever (almost)

Probably the best hand riveter I've ever owned. It even pulls 3/16" Cherrymax aircraft steel rivets (via Kraft obviously). I just replaced mine with a new one after 25 years of almost daily use. For regular home or hobby use, this is the last thing you'll ever need.

Pros
  • Housing made of high-strength aluminum alloy
Cons
  • Quality

Poor quality is best with rivets

From the very first rivet I had to remove the pin after each rivet - this required good pliers. This is an extra task for every rivet and a waste of time. I used this tool to complete a project but I was looking for a reliable replacement. (I welcome any suggestion.)

Pros
  • High strength aluminum alloy body
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Not made in the USA as shown.

This is made in Taiwan and is not a USA made product as shown in the photos. Chinese options but it's definitely not what the picture shows. That's why I'm giving 1 star, not because it's a bad tool.

Pros
  • Handles have molded vinyl grips for comfort
Cons
  • Some small things

Works for a while. - Rivets

I don't think it's really Marson, or at least not the one I had. This one broke after a few weeks of riveting along with every other hand rivet I've bought from Revain. The other one I bought as a kit from McMaster-Carr works great with no hiccups. Look at the picture and note my "good" is at the top and this one is at the bottom. It has it somewhere so you know I used it for a while before it expired.

Pros
  • Manufacturer: marson
Cons
  • Zero

Better than shooters

Hard work but requires a lot of hand strength to grip. Also the 2nd rivet got stuck in the cams - had to disassemble to remove the rod. Didn't know it was spring loaded - a piece flew into the tool box - took 20 minutes to find. I picked it up again, put it in the box and filled out the return form. I have an Astro 1423 two handed rivet gun which is easy to use but requires two hands. I need a one-handed rivet gun so that I can hold the part to be riveted with one hand and grip the rivet gunโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Forged carbon steel top grip
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...

They're great for my needs on the job

I use these everyday when working with a variety of sizes of aluminum, steel, and stainless steel rivets. I've been using an older (US made) version of this tool for a few years now and honestly I can't tell any difference in usage. Of course, any manual rivet gun will require maintenance and adjustment as needed, so there are no surprises here. This is the same old Marson design that has served me well in the past. I expect to use it at work for the rest of my career, even daily use, and amโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Thick, molded vinyl handles for comfort
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks
