Shiny copper color

Very pleased with the results of this copper color. I have painted on wood and metal and edited both. Works very well on wood. For more photos, check out my blog post on DIY copper and crystal boxes: [.]

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not sure

Red gold? suitable for painting

Excellent colour. Metallic as expected. I don't consider it "rose gold". No pink tint. But still nice paint. Unfortunately, due to the lighting, you can't see the metallic sheen, but as you can see, the gold band on the right side of the triangle isn't "rose gold".

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Crumpled

I used this for SHOES

believe it or not i bought this craft paint to touch up a pair of platinum leather shoes which have all been worn. I was hoping to use them for another month or two and didn't expect the color to cover or last as well. Now I get compliments on these shoes all the time and just smile knowing they were revived with craft paint! I wonder what else it could be used for?

Pros
  • delivery was very quick
Cons
  • so far so good

High quality gold finish.

Martha Stewart Gold paint is more expensive than comparable gold craft paint. But the quality was worth the extra price. Restored an old Singer sewing machine. The metal base has the Singer logo which was originally gold. I used Martha Stewart gold paint to repaint the beautiful lettering and logo. It was applied very smoothly with a thin brush and was usually covered in one coat. It came out beautifully. I would buy Martha Stewart art paints again.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Small but mighty: Painting

At first I didn't think it would be enough for my home projects. I had enough paint for 10 mini plaques (3 layers each) and three 6" x 24" word signs (3 layers each) with some extra left over. Add dots to my project and layer as needed - don't worry about subtle textures - after you've layered it will be a rich copper color, not a true "rose" aka rose gold, on both light and on dark tree. On a darker wood it only enhances the glow of my words. Easy rinsing of hands, brushes and other surfaces.

This color is amazing! I tried other color for the gilding but it was dirty and runny. . fairly clean ( There is a small hole to better control the flow of paint, especially if you only need a small amount. Or you can take the lid off and press a big splash of paint into the sky faster. The gold color is ok too. I've noticed that some other "gold" colors I've experimented with tend to look more brown (no shimmery sheen) or more coppery and aged. This shade is exactly what I want when workingโ€ฆ

Ok, but not THAT good.

I have used many metallic paints over the years and this one is very good. The color is light and corresponds to the appearance of a freshly polished coin. (Other brands do better with deeper copper tones.) Coverage is less impressive, however. I used paint on a thrift store Windsor chair and even over the primer it was so streaked that it took 3 coats so the project took longer than I expected. Also painting - actually I'm almost out. I would post a photo, only I've already appliedโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Painting, painting and craft supplies
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

Some Martha Stewart Crafts paints are better than others. I have Metallic Rose Gold and Metallic Copper and they are both a bit disappointing. Of the two, copper is much better than rose gold - it has more of a metallic sheen. Compared to rose gold, there are almost no metallic particles, so unless you look at it at just the right angle, it only looks caramel brown in bright light. Also copper, by the way, unless you use a heavy hand and paint in thick layers. When light hits the colorโ€ฆ
