Finally the right grip for the Mansfield 160

Finally the perfect spare part that fits without any problems. I had a very hard time finding a replacement handle for my toilet. All the toilets are Mansfield 160 models. I went to the big stores and bought handles and struggled to get them to work. They just never fit perfectly. That's exactly the handle you need for this toilet (and some other Mansfields). It's easy to install. Saved me a lot of money.

Perfect Replacement Lever

There are several different Mansfield style levers with minor differences. I bought the wrong one at the local hardware store and had to buy this one to fix my mistake. It was exactly what I needed. Note that on this model, after the rod is threaded through the hole, it goes straight to the right. The other style goes to the right but tilts slightly towards the front of the tank and sometimes gets stuck after flushing. It has no angle and works great.

  • One Year Trial
Cons
  • No Instructions

False advertising of toilet parts

I would like to preface my comment by saying that this handle fits my toilet and works well. However, I did not receive the item pictured here. The item I received did not have "Mansfield" printed on it. I bought this item on purpose because it looked like an exact replacement for my broken items. No, that is not so. You can find much cheaper generic ones at your local hardware store. Here's what it is: A generic substitute is sold as a brand name substitute. In addition to not having…

Perfect fit but cheaply made!

Updated 6/28/19: Very disappointed as the part broke. Broken at the junction of plastic with a chrome handle. Didn't even last a month. It's getting expensive to keep looking for a replacement for that lever! The product fit and worked great at first. I had many problems trying to swap out the Mansfield lever. The product shown in the picture is exactly the same as in my other toilets, so I ordered. The item that arrived has completely different packaging and does NOT have the Mansfield name on

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • No performance

Additional Info

I was looking for a replacement grip for a Mansfield model 160 tank. It was difficult to find the correct model online. I decided it was probably the right thing and ordered it. It arrived today and is indeed a suitable model to replace the 160. It looks exactly like my existing one - same length and curve - and it fits perfectly in place. Some useful information from the package: ------ --MansfieldModel No. 40CH-P Spare part for model 160 tank. Also for Mansfield Plumbing Tank models 125, 161,

Right side, small universal fit box

After the flush lever on our Mansfield toilet broke, I looked to Lowe's and Home Depot for a replacement. The Lowe had a spare, but it was a generic Mansfield spare that was too long (I cut it with a hacksaw) and didn't have the right flex so I couldn't properly tighten the nut holding it to the tank . This resulted in the toilet not draining properly and the cistern lever becoming weaker over time. Frustrated I searched the internet for the right part and that led me to number 40 for sale…

Direct replacement for Mansfield 160 cistern

The flush lever on my Mansfield cistern failed after 11 years of use about 13 months ago so I went to my local Big Box store to look for a replacement. Since I couldn't find a direct replacement, I bought a "Universal Flush Lever". After trimming it down to size and adjusting the bar angle I was able to get it working but it broke last week. Deciding that my next solution would be permanent, I went to Revain and looked for a direct manufacturer replacement for my Mansfield 160 tank (remove the…
