It's been 5 years and it still works like clockwork!

I bought this modem on January 18, 2010 from Revain. So I've had this modem for more than 5 years! I have used this exclusively with Comcast and have never had a problem since installing it many years ago. Comcasts slower internet speed appears to be 25Mbps. Not much I can say other than this thing has been working great for 5 years and I hope it lasts another 5+ years. This saved me money since most ISPs charge "rent" if you let them install your modem at your home; Not paying that amountโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Good reliable modem. Best in chain products

I bought it at least 6 years ago. I've since swapped out my router to keep up with the standards, but this thing still keeps my 150Mbps internet connection going. The only way to get more out of a modem is to buy one that supports more downloads and download channels than this one. I believe this one supports 4up and 4down at 150Mbps (although technically it should be 172Mbps with 4 channels since each channel supports 43Mbps). Some of the more expensive offerings support 32 download channelsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Easy to install on Comcast

Just received. Plugged in and called Comcast and it works with no problems. Comcast was very efficient. All this took about 20 minutes from opening the package to connecting to the network. The only annoyance was that I use Linux. I restarted windows and tried to run the setup wizard but that did nothing and did nothing. The problem is not with Linux. It loaded into Windows for no reason, which was annoying. You don't need Windows to run this thing. All you have to do is read the user manualโ€ฆ

  • Weight

Love this modem, good for network products

I've been using it for years with no problems. I used to lose internet all the time when I rented a modem from a cable company. But not since I bought this modem. One problem is that unfortunately I now have WOW as my ISP. Although this modem is on WOW's list of compatible modems and states that it can achieve download speeds of 500Mbps, WOW techs keep telling me it's not compatible with their service. I think that means you'll get faster speeds with this modem if you avoid WOW than if you useโ€ฆ

Pros
  • I'm looking forward to
Cons
  • old

A Network Engineer's Perspective

This is hands down the FASTEST AND MOST STURDY cable modem I have ever used. Things prospective customers need to understand: (1) Does your ISP support? (2) Does your ISP support its dual channel functionality? (3) This cable modem's firmware is controlled by your ISP (like most modems) which means they have their own client firmware for it. (4) This also means that any instability is most likely coming from your ISP. (5 ) Finally (PLEASE NOTE), if the dual link mode is properly enabled andโ€ฆ

  • Comfortable to Use
