It's a decent closet, but mine was beaten to hell.

This was the second NavePoint cabinet I have ordered and unfortunately it will be my last. The first 9u arrived (a slightly different model), and upon opening the glass door, it immediately fell and broke, causing glass to be shipped _everywhere_. total disaster. So I bought these as a replacement. This version comes unassembled (the other one came pre-assembled) and a few parts of the case were just bent like hell. Instead of sending it back and trying a third time I ended up using a hammer to

Great for a small office

Update: I wrote my review based on build and first impressions, now that I've had time to install it I'll have to deduct 2 stars. The switched on fan does not work. Removing a fan that screws in from the top when it's already installed is a hassle. Now for the first review. It was packed in a flat and double box, I had no dents or anything. The assembly is simple but long, about 30 minutes. It's a pretty clever combination, they used square strut nuts as attachment points. As one reviewer said,

Well, if there is extra work.

Looks pretty good for the price. However, it bends when mounted on the wall. I need to add 2 wires from the top back to the bottom front using small turnbuckles to level this cabinet. Not because of the strength, but because I want it to be square and even. A little OCD I guess LOL. The silicone used to hold the glass to the metal looks like a safe weak point and already appears to be flexing. I will remove this critical area, clean and apply the appropriate epoxy. I also removed theโ€ฆ

Good server cabinet

It may not be the most reliable server cabinet, but it works. Assembly is fairly easy, although it may take about an hour as the parts are not marked. Once assembled it feels very durable and very affordable. Pros: - Durable enough for home use or a small office. - Can be wall mounted - Mounted - Intended for two roof fans - Provides cable access from below and above - Easy access due to lockable side panels - Good glass front door - Lockable Cons: - The rails below and above are very weak - Iโ€ฆ

Side panels are a must

This is a great 9U rack with plenty of room for networking and more. Mechanism. However, if you put a NAS or more in it, the weight will cause some flexing of the frame. The retractable sides are part of the overall stability and are quite necessary. Still, a great case for the money!

Ideal for a small office

Update: I wrote my review based on assembly and first impressions, now that I've had time to install it I'll have to deduct 2 stars. Once installed, it's a pain. Now for the beginning of the review. It came flat packed and double boxed, I had no dents or anything. Assembly was easy but took a long time, about 30 minutes. Square strut nuts were used as attachment points. Pros
  • Total floor space 13.75 inches front to back.
Cons
  • Not bad but...

1) Instructions are similar to the 10th generation but reduced by half of the original size. That is, barely readable. 1a) A running BOM rather than a manual 2) The pack of tapered end screws (the "self-tapping screws" in the BOM) was a pack of regular screws instead. This is important because: 3) The screw holes didn't even come close to matching. Try zooming out by 1/2. I had to go to a home storage facility and get real sheet metal screws. 4) The vertical U-rails were too short and didn'tโ€ฆ
