Probably great for one story "open plan " homes

I bought this router/modem combo for our new home as we have a small corner near the cable exit that is too narrow for two individual devices would. along with all our other toys. On the underside it works great, providing a solid, fast connection for both wired devices and our many wireless toys. Above is another story. I thought the old structure of our house would interfere with the signal, but I've since been shown that other devices don't have this problem. I'm debating whether to get oneโ€ฆ

Tried 2 and neither worked with Comcast

Bought the first one. Booted normally, contacted Comcast by phone. Hangs on establishing an outgoing connection (the LED just keeps flashing). A few hours of troubleshooting, no connection to the internet. Suppose the problem is in the modem. Send it back, get a second one. I thought it was recertified and cheap ($35), worth trying again if the first one broke. The second comes, same problem. This product either does not work with Comcast/Xfinity or does not work at all. Also, the prices areโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Hard to remember but it was

This modem connected to all my WiFi devices on the 2.4 and 5MHz bands and acted as a router. When connected to Xfinity/Comcast it never synced to their system. You could see the modem but I never connected to the internet on my side. I had Comcast supply one of their modems and it worked fine. I bought this modem too early because it was non-refundable when I used it. I think I'll have to throw it in the trash instead of returning it. This is the first "refurbished" product I've purchased thatโ€ฆ

I love having access to two WiFis so you can stay connected.

I was hesitant because I don't usually buy recommended products. I'd rather have new stuff out of the box. Our cable provider suggested this product and decided I would buy it to save ten dollars a month. I like having dual Wi-Fi access so you can be on one signal while the rest of your family and friends can be on the other without slowing down our connection. Our last modem also stopped working on its own, but this one didn't let us down. I am very satisfied with this item and will recommendโ€ฆ

Requires constant rebooting but that's not enough

I bought this about 2 months ago and it worked at first, although I had to buy a repeater because the range wasn't that great either. In the end the TV got disconnected from it and we had to restart it or even do a factory reset, later that didn't work either, the router also had to be restarted and sometimes some devices were connected to the wifi but didn't have no internet connection . It's becoming more and more common, so now it's happening every day, and every time more devices go without

Doesn't give you wifi. Buyer Warning.

Less than a year after purchasing this modem/router, the WiFi capability is officially zero. It never delivered anything but a mediocre signal, especially as the range required was only for a 2 bedroom apartment, but now I can't even reproduce that initial measly performance. It was an excellent price when I first bought it, but I can now see the negative reviews slowly fading away and showing that this technology is rubbish. Believe me. spend money elsewhere. I would have to invest in a brandโ€ฆ

Don't waste your time!

Purchased this item less than a week ago and just today people came from Comcast. The device has already been registered with another Comcast customer in another state. Comcast was able to post the serial number, but the device did not connect to the Comcast service as expected. Comcast Technology has tried unsuccessfully to return the device many times and I am currently returning it. I also bought a new model from Netgear and hope it works better.
