Powerful compact monoboard

Lots of power when you need a mono amplifier. I was using it to make a portable homemade boombox out of a center channel speaker, so I really needed a mono output. High performance even with an input voltage of 18 volts. Clear sound with minimal distortion and good build quality

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Little things

Decent amp but fantastic price.

I use this amp for center channel sound in a 5.1 system. Plays loud and I'm very happy, but I'll be replacing this 3116 with a 3255 for a better sound and to get rid of the audible hiss inherent in 3116 amps.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Great machine

This little amp is real! I added a bluetooth receiver via a 3.5mm plug and completed the wireless boombox. I run a tweet, mid and 8 inch subwoofer on this mono channel and it sounds great. I'm glad I bought a few. And at this price. How can you go wrong?!

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Not sure

Great little amp for home audio

I have used this and a laptop power supply to upgrade an unpowered Peavy floor standing monitor to a self powered monitor. The monitor has been rated for a maximum output of 65W, so it's pretty efficient. Apply 18 volts DC to the amp and it will drive the 12 inch woofer and dual horn drivers to very high load levels. The stage volume is more than sufficient.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • I am writing back

Insanely powerful in home theater

Requires 100W to power the speaker and goes well beyond that. If you turn the knob from 0 to 11, you can easily achieve an acceptable sound level of 0.5. Any louder and you'll get brain damage, I swear. I was very happy with the purchase, although the instructions were missing it was a very easy solution to implement.

Pros
  • Free for educational use
Cons
  • Upgrades

OH GOD! in Home Audio

Simply great. I replaced a Gainclone I made (using an LM1875) which I was very happy with. I thought I would play around with this thing. The sound is great through my Warehouse G8C 8" in a factory plywood cabinet; at full volume I'm afraid my ears will bleed. Looking forward to a bigger speaker/cabinet: I expect this little amp to drive it well THE ONLY downside is that the 5.5mm jack for power doesn't work with a lot of wall warts.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Nothing

Fantastic design, especially at this price.

It's a small, light, well built device that will kick your ass. I used a cheap 4 inch speaker for testing and it's amazing. At 50% volume it hurts the ears, at 65% the speaker jumps. I thought full sound would probably destroy the speaker so I stopped. I used a 3.5 stereo to mono jack cable and had no problems. The only improvement I would suggest for the manufacturer, or for you, is the addition of a tone control. Outputting with a small speaker and a high frequency sound source or high…

Pros
  • It's great
Cons
  • Some bugs
