Description of Enhance Your Photography with the Olympus FL-600R Wireless Flash

It features a built-in LED light that can function as an AF illuminator for still images or as full-time auxiliary lighting for shooting movies. As a bounce flash, the FL-600R tilts upward to 90 degrees and downward to 7 degrees, and it can swivel side-to-side up to 180 degrees in each direction. A wide panel and catch light plate are built into the unit, so you won't misplace them when traveling. In wireless mode, the FL-600R has a built-in commander function to remotely fire other wireless flash units without firing itself, but it can also be used as a slave flash. 6 modes: TTL-AUTO, AUTO, Manual, FP TTL-Auto, FP Manual, RC.

Buy Godox instead! Best shoe flash

I hate Olympus flash. SLOW! I can't always rely on it and only need it for weddings. Weddings are the only time I have to rely solely on gear. GODOX! Buy Godox instead! It's cheaper and much, much faster! Much more reliable! You can buy the coolest Godox flash for less than a crappy Olympus flash!

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Frequency

Perfect fit for my E-M10!

I bought this flash for both on and off camera use. The camera doesn't outweigh my E-M10's small size and weight, and the reflective flash, TTL, and controls are easy to use. Off camera in RC mode it works well when optically triggered. Powerful enough to be used in a softbox or umbrella. Great general purpose flash and requires 4 batteries so update time is very fast.

Pros
  • quality construction
Cons
  • dim

not everything I had hoped for.

I'm glad I bought it used and didn't pay full price. Works fine but doesn't work in all modes on my OMD EM-10 (will not be TTL). However, it works on my OMD EM-1 when using an Olympus flash extension (no TTL). It will only be TTL if it is the camera hot shoe. Remote mode works on OMD EM-1 but not on my OMD EM-10. However, if you put the flash in remote mode, you can control it from either model. Also, it's not that small and even quite heavy when charged with 4 batteries, so carrying it around…

Perfect for my OM-D

Compact, powerful and very easy to use. It pairs perfectly with my OM-D E-M10 Mark II and seems to work well in TTL metering mode so far. I also tested our RC (remote) mode using my E-M10 II's built-in flash as a trigger and this function worked well too. The LED light has 3 levels of brightness and is useful for fairly close objects, but I doubt how often I'll use it. The LED is also used for the AF assist light, which I'm not keen on (I prefer the red lights on my Canon flashes as they're…

Fixed intermittent issue

When I first received the unit I found that it would not fire reliably on my M5 which is very bad for a family Christmas shoot (the family keeps looking at me critically and saying, that I could use my phone) oh! I was messing around with him and he started shooting so I finally got shots. Looking at it the next day I found that once it's locked I can lose the ttl-a indicator by sliding the flash into the hot shoe. I found the grounding to be inadequate and intermittent. Grounding between the…

Great addition to an OM-D camera

Came from Nikon and have used the SB600 on a D90 for a few years. The only reason this product didn't get 5 stars is that Nikon's i-TTL way of working is truly the best in the interchangeable lens digital camera world. Just great. However, this flash is MUCH smaller than other "full" flashes, much easier to set up and use than the SB600 and. That's great. Once you set it up as an RC slave, it automatically knows when you put it on the camera that it wants to be in TTL-A mode. I want my Nikon to

Pros
  • Good product for the price

This is my second machine of the same model. I will be using two flashes in combination with the Trigger Trap Dongle for high speed stop motions and using two flashes makes the actual flash event shorter/faster and should handle motion stops better. I'll also be using a flash on a separate panel to better light the room while I'm photographing the kids moving around the room. This flash is so well made that I am impressed with it, I have no doubt that it will be very durable. There is a white…

Not big, not small. Precisely!

I've only had this flash drive for a few days but so far I've been very impressed with its range of features and capabilities. This seems like a good compromise between size and performance for an m43 camera. From the packaging it looked like a quality product. Fit and finish are first class. Good weight but still the light weight I was looking for to match my new Olympus E-M1, although the weight almost doubles if you put in 4 Eneloop NiMh batteries (which is what you plan to use in this…

flash 3.5 stars, still the best single flash option for Micro 4/3 (along with the Panasonic Twin FL360L which is the same unit with the proprietary Panasonic body). Camera or mount with TTL cable is a 5 star device. They really have made it as far as possible to be considered a "big" m4/3 option. It has the same feature set and performance as the old FL36R but in a more compact body and about the size you'd ever be comfortable with on an m4/3 body. Even with the grip of the GH and OM-D cameras,
