I bought it primarily for the cutting mat. very big mistake. The cut surface has absolutely no sag (I've seen granite control blocks with more sag). Unlike clsims, this is NOT a self heal. Pressing the rotating cutter hard enough to cut through the material will leave a permanent scar on the surface of the mat. Site looks ok (only used once). However, it is too thin to fix it. In the background I had to make my own and probably will. Then I can put a new rug on top of that one and throw it away

I had no idea I needed this little gem. This is a great time saver for quilt retreats as you don't have to stop and go to a "public" ironing area to iron quilt blocks. It's also handy at home because I have a small sewing area and it fits nicely next to my craft closet. It can be wonderfully combined with a travel iron for quick ironing. I love these Omnigrid foldable work mats and iron tops. This is my third, only second in size. Use flat ONLY, do not fold the cutting mat behind the surface of the iron and the iron, this will deform and ruin the cutting surface. So I just bought a new one. Also, do not store or keep it in a hot car near a window, as this may cause deformation of the side surface of the cutting mat. This cutting mat/ironing pad is a real lifesaver in my small workspace. A cutting board is great because it lets my circular knife cut in one go and doesn't leave cut or scratch marks. Giving 5 stars because there really is nothing wrong with the product or the price. perfect tool to carry. However, I prefer my large 24x36 inch cutting mat and the thick wool felt mat. The silvery finish of the ironing material is slippery, while my 3/4 thick wool felt mat is hard and grippy. Instead, I prefer a wool rug and a large cutting mat. The product measurements given are correct: 13x19. However, this is a closed or "folded" size. I mistakenly thought it was an open "working size". So I was expecting something a lot less than what I got. Cutting mat 12x18. The ironing pad is also 12x18. When this thing is open it measures 19 x 26 inches.
