Failed after 3 weeks

My first review was 5 stars - then it came out the door. The problem is that the screws are too short. The screws are only 1/2" long and almost half that length is untreated due to the "self-tapping" property. The mounting plate is 3/16" thick, so less than 1/4" threads hold it in place and Spot. That's not good enough. I installed it in a brand new door in my new house. The door is good quality but like most modern doors it's made from composite panel. It took 2 weeks for the screws to be…

Easy to install - great product

Purca I did a little research to find the best reviews of some doorstops. This particular product had a few bad reviews but they far outweighed the good ones. Installation was very easy and quick. I installed them on 2 metal doors in my car dealership in 10 minutes. Set your height slightly below the base of your feet. Then mark the top hole for the drill. I had self tapping screws so I didn't have to drill anything. Using a drill, install the first screw at the marked location of the hole…

Fantastic Product - Door Stop

From time to time you come across a product that is not only useful but literally a pleasure; A product so clear that the designer has paid attention to every little detail that is really fun to work with. I usually find this kind of craftsmanship in technical products and luxury goods. I never expected to find it in a door. Not only is this door sturdy and well made, but installation literally couldn't be simpler. The manufacturer has designed it so that the cardboard inside the package can be

It's LOUD when folded back, but it WORKS!

This doorstop works well. It feels well made, the parts don't rattle or anything like that. The foot confidently falls to the ground and usually stays there (depending on how you set it up. Worked for me: if you set it too high over the door the foot doesn't stick to the ground very well, so before you do anything Drill, attach the base plate to the door, slide the leg out and make sure it is at the right angle that you know will remain stable once in place). I set it a bit too high as you can…

Inexpensive solution to keep my gate open

Just installed mine today. The instructions were a little sparse, but by applying the template to the door you plan to mount it on, it was fairly easy to figure out the correct orientation and spacing. Pro tip: At first it REALLY seemed like the top screw was out of reach for a screwdriver whether the stopper was all the way up or all the way down; However, you can hold the stopper halfway and it provides fairly easy access to that area. I've seen a few complaints about the screws that come…

Sturdy, a bit noisy, strong hold

Ordered a door that leads to the garage. Before it had nothing, no locking lever at the top, no doorstop. But often the wind prevented full closure, and our bichon would run across the desert with coyotes. My son installed the top cover first and I hated it because I couldn't use my hands to hold the door open long enough to get through and several times it hit my arm so hard I feared injury. I ordered this stop, it came the next day and was already there in the evening. I love how easy it is…

Looks good, easy to assemble, works as it should.

I needed this because our cat likes to push open the door with his shoulder when bursting into the room chasing imaginary mice. The door then has enough momentum to fully open and we have to get up to close it again, again leaving it open just enough for it to fly through the hole in the second round of the Invisible Mouse Chase. Antique bronze looks gorgeous on a coffee brown door. I think the spot could be called a nut I guess. There is a template on the box with three mounting holes on the…
