Described Excellent and working well

This lift will hold a 2 person kayak up to 14ft! If you also have a high ceiling, it is recommended to purchase a longer lifting cable before installation. This is perfect for a 10 foot tall.

Pros
  • Sequins
Cons
  • Quick Guide

Good kayak lift, installation disappointing

kayak lift works well but installation guide was not clear. I watched a youtube video about installing a similar elevator and this was the only way to get it installed correctly.

Pros
  • Great choice
Cons
  • Long time

Does not work on all kayaks.

I bought two and will be returning them to buy something else. Unfortunately, the straps immediately slip off the kayak, making it dangerous. several hours a day.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Wrinkled

Instructions suck, but this is a good product

We highly recommend you to search Google to install this product. The instructions are not detailed enough. On the other hand, they respond quickly to emails. No problem lifting my two kayaks and I'm a 5'2" female. However, they are very difficult to lift if installed incorrectly - we learned that the hard way!

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Useless features

Disappointment upon disappointment

First, installation is a major pain. The instructions are not clear and you will spend a lot of time installing the mounting brackets. Especially when you consider that the instructions recommend placing it at a distance where it will never work according to normal mounting patterns (the distance between the two screws is also too far apart and you will never put them both in the same stud deploy). Only to find out that the lift itself is an absolute joke to take the kayak to the top. If you…

Pros
  • Lasting test results
Cons
  • No paint required

Sturdy as advertised

Holds up well and installs with 2x4 without too much trouble. I had to change the position of the bracket and pulley several times because the straps kept slipping off the nose of my kayak. Also, the cord is small and will cut your arms when picking up the 80# Hobie Outback. I only use one pair of gloves and it's not that bad. Very happy with it so far when I have it set up correctly.

Pros
  • Tools and household items
Cons
  • Crumpled

Cheap screws, instructions needed to adjust

2 out of 4 screws broke when tightened and I didn't really try. Had to dig up a similar bolt in the basement, move the bracket and reinstall it (because the hole I was using was plugged with a broken bolt). Also, I followed the instructions for how far apart the brackets should be based on the size of the kayak, but those instructions were wrong. When installing according to the instructions, the straps slipped off the ends of the kayak and I was unable to lift it. If the straps were rubberized
