Good WHEN MIXED WITH OTHER SOIL

This is my first time trying this material, and it went great--at first. One brick, when I added water, expanded to fill most of a plastic storage bin (roughly 18" x 12" x 8"). I have 120 plant pots, the 2.4" size, and there's definitely enough for all of those with plenty left over. The mix has a nice texture: even when wet, it doesn't stick to your hands as much as regular potting soil does; it dusts off more cleanly. No smell that I've noticed.I was for some reason under the impression that…

Pros
  • Soils, Mulches & Planting Media
Cons
  • Can be hard to find a consistent quality product

Great way to keep garden soil on hand!

These are great for people with small gardens or indoor plants. The best feature is that they store in their dry, compressed state until you're ready to use them. They re-hydrate easily and quickly. Just remember that this medium has no nutrients in it, so you have to add your own fertilizer, but is sure does hold water! You can mix this with regular soil or raised bed garden soil and you won't have to water so often!

Pros
  • Excellent clean material well packed, quickly delivered.
Cons
  • Can be messy to work with

Great product Harbors great pest

This is a great product, that is simple to use and there is absolutely no odor, unless your water is stinky. The value is such that it keeps me coming back year after year . I use this product with a course vermiculite. I grow indoor annuals under lights. The Coco coir is perfect, light and holds moisture extremely well. I have started to mix in diatomaceous earth powder in the top 2 inches of my soil tops. This is an inert amendment designed to provide a physical defense against the larvae…

Pros
  • 1.4 pounds
Cons
  • May not be suitable for large gardening projects due to the amount needed

For worm composting bins, easy bedding.

After soaking, makes an easy bedding for worm composting bin. Good value, no scent and is biodegradable. Ends up being in my garden or flowers after the worms have had their way with it. Black Gold.

Pros
  • I used for bedding for my worm factory. One block lasts for 2 bins so this box lasts awhile. Good value.
Cons
  • It's great except it, attracts Gnats0⅕

I will never buy peat again.

I have been using coir in place of peat for about thirty. My original reason was because it came in compact brick form. I live in an apartment, and raise lots of houseplants for which I mix my own potting soil. I don't have a lot of storage space. I can store a year's supply of coir in a tote in the closet, where a bale of peat would never fit. everyone has probably heard the argument over whether coir is a more renewable resource than peat. I have to be neutral on the subject, but as a useful…

Pros
  • This product is perfect for those who care about health and wellness of their plants
Cons
  • Can produce a sour odor if left too wet

Soil enhancement - my new review

Easy to use, dissolved a brick in water in a 5 gal bucket and worked into garden soil. Excellent as an amendment and for retention of water in soil.

Pros
  • The product is OMRI Listed
Cons
  • Not suitable for plants that require a more dense soil

Tightly packed for my opinion

I love this medium, but it is a pain if your not using an entire 650 mg brick. Still a quality product though! Thanks for attention!

Pros
  • The product is easy to mix and use
Cons
  • May not be able to provide adequate support for plants with heavy fruit

Safe for worms!: my feedback

Bought these coir blocks to soak up extra moisture from the worm bin. It soaks up the moisture and is safe for worms. Perfect for my need!

Pros
  • Organic Coco Bliss contains no harmful chemicals or additives, ensuring a safe growing environment for your plants
Cons
  • May not be suitable for plants that require a more nitrogen-rich soil

Not sure about these

Haven’t actually used them yet. Just got them out of box today and noticed bricks are not uniform size as you can see in photos. I unwrapped the smallest and it was a little under 100g less than what it was supposed to weigh. Maybe they all add up to be the amount that is supposed to be in the box but I’d like it better if the bricks were uniform and all weighed 650g like they are supposed to. We will see how it performs but feeling a bit nervous now haha.

Pros
  • It is a sustainable product that is sourced, produced and packaged in an environmentally conscious manner
Cons
  • Not effective at deterring weeds

Great as expected: my feedback

I don't have much to compare to because this is my first experience with coco coir. I bought both the worm castings and coco blocks from Plantonix and they seem to both be fine and of good quality. If you're planning to break up the blocks to use (as I intended to), keep in mind that breaking them apart is quite difficult. But this seems to be the smallest size you can purchase for a good value. Luckily I only needed to replant one item, so I only needed maybe 1 cup of coco coir - I was able to

Pros
  • It saves you money on soil and fertilizer purchases
Cons
  • Can produce an oily residue during transport

Wash perlite too: my feedback

Double soak in 4ml Calmag per liter of water. AGAIN! SOAK IT TWICE IN CALMAG AT LEAST 8 hrs. Per soak. Hydrate Coco with warm water. Three gallon per 1.5 pound brick. Wash well with high pressure water in a eighth inch mesh colander. Best done "out of doors" as my cousin says. Coco Bliss is awesome but a hell of a lot of work. Pro Mix HP may suite you better. An hour a brick lol.

Pros
  • The product is low in PH, making it excellent for growing healthy plants
Cons
  • Can be difficult to rehydrate once it has dried out completely

No Surprises on my review.

The blocks come individually wrapped, include easy to understand simple instructions and the product is what it's supposed to be. Sometimes no news is good news, as is the case with this product. Will buy again.

Pros
  • Organic Coco Bliss is pH-balanced and nutrient-rich, ensuring a healthy growing environment for your plants
Cons
  • May not be suitable for plants with shallow root systems

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not the cheapest, but the best quality.

I've used a couple different brands of coco coir for amending soil or making my own potting mix and this one is super nice quality. It fluffs up so beautiful and is pristinely clean. Highly recommend.

Pros
  • Quality product and great value for the price .
Cons
  • Not effective at retaining nutrients long-term

Used as a replacement for Peet moss

I use this as a replacement for Pete Moss since it is more sustainable. It was very easy to work with, and stores nicely since it’s compacted. However, I don’t feel like my plants did as well. Next year I’m going to try a 50/50 mixture of this and Peet moss

Pros
  • Garden Soil
Cons
  • May not be effective at retaining moisture in extremely dry environments

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It’s a big brick that turns into “soil”

Coir is actually a soil-less medium, and there are no nutrients to be taken up from it. That being said, this is the best seed starting medium per cost. Yes, Pete moss is (ever so slightly) better in certain circumstances. But honestly it waterlogs so easily. I’ve had more success with this brick. BUY THE BRICK!

Pros
  • No
Cons
  • Can be difficult to find in stores

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If you want the best.

I've purchased several brands of Coco Coir for mushroom cultivation and Coco Bliss has been the best. I won't buy any other.

Pros
  • Easy to use very good soil for micro greens
Cons
  • Not suitable for plants that require a more alkaline soil

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for composting toilets

Easy to use, I put in a bucket and add about a quart and a half of water and they swell up and separate perfectly, little is required to prepare for toilet.

Pros
  • Coco pith is known to improve soil structure and nutrient retention
Cons
  • Not effective at reducing soil-borne diseases

Great purchase, gardening pro mother inlaw loved them!

I got these for my mother in-law to try out. She is an avid gardener, a pro really. She is somewhat skeptical of stuff like this, but gave it a try with some of her potted plants. So far, so good. She has no complaints, and when we wet the brick and broke it apart, there was no funky filler or scent. A+++

Pros
  • Premium Coco Coir Growing Medium
Cons
  • Can be difficult to mix into larger quantities of soil

We got this as composting medium for a composting toilet. It was our first time using it, so there was some learning curve. One of the videos I'd watched instructed to "add 1 cup of water," so that was precisely what I did, and I found that the parts which were well moistened were very easy to break up. I crumbled the rest as best I could, then left them in the bag with the remainder, to allow the moisture to equalize, after which the clumps broke up easily. After the toilet was installed, I…

Pros
  • It is a cost-effective solution for growing plants at home
Cons
  • May not be able to support heavy plants without additional support
