The best leather clothing.

See my review of the brown PECARD headband. This is the general treatment I mentioned in this review that makes uncoated smooth leather products soft, supple and waterproof. This is a paste-like dressing that should be left on overnight to soak up, soften and waterproof your leather clothing or gloves.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

A good thing! - Interior Care

I just finished a pair of Trask boots in dark brown and a pair of 1000 mile Evans in what they call dark brown (actually rust). I rubbed with my fingers, wiped with a rag and finished with a horsehair brush. Very happy with the results. Doesn't seem to change the color of either shoe. A little goes a long way, and it should last quite a while. I've used Huberd's in the past and love it, but it does darken a shade or two. I think I'll use this on anything that isn't black or very dark brown.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Some bugs

If that's good enough for Indiana Jones, that's good enough for me.

I have been making kangaroo leather whips and weaving fine leather for a number of years. Caring for this sensitive skin requires first class leather care. David Morgan, the gentleman who designed all of the bullwhip for the Indiana Jones films, uses and recommends this product exclusively. I have used this product for years to lubricate, condition and waterproof my whips, braids, collars, harnesses etc. Every product I have used Pecards on has lasted in perfect condition indefinitely. Pecards…

Hidden gem for car detailing

This product does exactly what it promises. It is a professional cleaner, conditioner and weather protection. This is a thick neutral color ointment that has not marred or discolored any of my black and brown semi-aniline leathers. He restored a faded, 40-year-old vintage jacket in about a day. This jacket has received a lot of abuse and has never been cared for so I'm glad I was able to salvage it before major repairs are needed. It also worked well on a black leather hat and gloves. It's…

Better than Mink Oil

This (32 oz Pecard Leather Dressing) is a great product to use on almost any finished leather product. I use it most on my leather shoes to hide scuffs and wear and protect from moisture and winter salt. It darkens the leather a bit, but when it's done it looks almost new! I use it every week and can't remember the last time I used nail polish. I used to have to buy a new pair of leather boots for work every year; Just after winter ended when the ice, snow, wear and tear of the season and salt…

does not look good until wiped down and cleaned immediately

When used on shoes (Frye Logan Boots and Crockett & Jones Coniston) it does not look good until wiped down and cleaned immediately. The next day to buff off the residue found it looked greasy rather than shiny. I know it's just a conditioner and not a wax so I let it dry so I can move on to another wax. Many days later the greasy glue was still on the surface of the boots, not soaking up or evaporating, leading me to suspect that chemical grease is well made from some mineral/petroleum…

Restored color and shine, softer durable jacket

I have an old biker jacket that I bought from a friend who had better days. Based on the Wilsons leather neck tag it probably dates from the 90's and appears to have been neglected before I got it and is starting to show cracks in places. Not wanting to spend a few hundred dollars on a new jacket, I decided to upgrade it instead, so I did a little research online and settled on this product. I first soaped the saddle to clean it and then I started Pecard. I was expecting it to smell kinda, but…

Smells great, simple beeswax base, works great, just great!

Very happy with this item. Smells like honey due to the beeswax content, was a nice first impression when opening. Other skin care products/dressings I've used in the past have had a strong chemical smell and I love how natural and simple they are. I bought a very nice handmade vegetable tanned leather belt that I LOVE and wanted to take care of, also the edges weren't smoothed/polished to my liking and after reading about it I thought I'd try those to clean the edges yourself. . I received…

Softens, protects and waterproofs as stated

As an active rider I own more leather gear than should be allowed and am constantly looking for ways to clean heavy leather boots, jackets and gloves, soften to make and protect. I have tried various oils and pastes including Mink Oil (natural and synthetic), Foot Oil, Obenauf's, Leather CPR and a range of oils and water repellents. (I have to say that CPR is the best cleaner for leather - beats saddle soap in my opinion and does a decent job of softening new leather.) I came across a forum of…
