For 6x8 they are pretty good. They don't seem to have much bass range, but my subwoofer easily overrides that. I chose not to connect them to my quad amp because my main unit is more than enough for my small truck. I have these in my 2011 Ford Edge to replace factory speakers as they were designed specifically for this car (and a few others). Like any other speaker, they don't add more bass or anything like that. that everything comes from the head unit. However, they have incredible clarity compared to my stock speakers.
