I was a little surprised.

As soon as it arrived I placed the Platypod Max on the kitchen table and mounted the tripod head on it. Then my Pentax 150-450 Zoom and K-1 Mark II. It was rock solid. Impressed! I would never harm my camera if I didn't have a strap attached to it - not on a platypod, not on a regular tripod. But it was stable - more stable than a normal tripod. I doubt I'll carry a regular tripod with me again - Platypod easily fits in my bag and doesn't weigh at all. Of course, for the camera to be at eye…

Very handy for camera and photography

I like Platypod Max and everything Platypod related. This is a very handy platform for my camera. I haven't had it that long but am planning to use it on a photography trip in October. I have used it in the garden and hope to get to the park next week. This allows you to shoot at a very low level, or attach it to a tree or multiple locations. Before I got my hands on it, I was skeptical about hanging it on a tree. I was afraid he would fall and I would lose my camera. When I see and taste it, I

Extremely useful - camera and photo

I used this tool extensively for the first time yesterday. When shooting scenes with water, it's best to crouch and it's painful to do it with a tripod, spread your legs, keep your legs out of the frame, etc. Pain in the back. That's why Platypod was so attractive. I paired it with a Vanguard ball head. I went to the Delaware Water Gap and used it solely for the water shots I was taking that day. Aligning with screws was difficult at first. Being on the side of a creek among rocks of all sizes…

This product is insanely high quality!

At first I thought it might be too expensive but I ordered it anyway. The quality is surprisingly good from start to finish. Every detail is first class. I find it hard to believe that the device shipped with bad screw threads, but I'll admit it's possible. Mine came with a quality control sticker on a high quality clam shell gift box! It would be impossible to maintain this level of quality, charge less and still make a profit. If you're okay with paying over $100 for a tripod head, $100 for…

What a fantastic and versatile product!

Shows how something so simple can sometimes solve complex problems. Don't get me wrong, this is not a replacement for a tripod, but it can be acceptable in locations where tripods are inappropriate or bulky, where a full tripod is not needed, and especially in locations where tripods are prohibited ! All this on a relatively small, light and thin aluminum plate that fits perfectly in my camera bag. First, let me mention that I got my PlatyPod Max with the top ball head as a bundle from Revain…

This is by far the best of them all

I have a lot of accessories for my camera but this is by far the best of them all. It is well made and very high quality. The way it's done costs money. Can see it in my pocket for a long time. Update date: 03/30/17: Well, I have two screws that are bent. I called and left a voicemail and an email to the company. No more than 10 minutes after the email, Larry, I'm guessing the owner or manager called me. OK WOW! I told him what happened and he was just as shocked and confused as I was about…
