Anything but round.

I really like the leather of the carpet itself. That's good skin. Compared to felt, it attracts much less dust and almost does not electrify. The disappointment comes from the processing of the product. Seriously bad. The rug is anything but round, there are also lots of loose leather fringes around the edges. Really unacceptable in terms of fit and finish. It's not sewn into shoes or anything, so giving this thing a real crew neck isn't going to be a feat of engineering. For the price theyโ€ฆ

Wouldn't buy again - static is worse!

After reading the reviews I was very excited about this product but the reality was far less exciting. The carpet is very thin, not at all as thick as it seems in the photo. This is only half the thickness of the felt mat that came with my Audio-Technica. While this seems to help mitigate some of the audible noise from static, it actually seems to attract MORE static electricity than my felt rug. I have to peel it off the back of my records when I take them off the platter and my records seemโ€ฆ

Removes static, amplifies noise

I live in the desert where relative humidity is often 5-10%. Every time I used my Audioquest LP Static Static Brush it generated enough static electricity to lift my felt mat on my Marantz TT with the LP when it was removed from the disc, which is a little ironic given it's an 'Static Static Brush " acts". So I mostly skip this stage of record maintenance. All that noise put a lot of dust on my records, and believe me, there's a lot of dust in the desert. This leather rug solved that unsolvable

Lower quality but better sound

The edges of my rug are slightly wavy or more like a hump that you can see as it rotates. I'm not sure if this has an impact as most of my vinyl has more bumps than mats. With a little pressure it lays down evenly. I've been looking for something that matches the thickness of the Rega felt and this is a bit thicker. I also bought Jake's Matt. Jakes is more attractive and very soft and comfortable to hold. Jake's is a little thicker than this. Does it matter how he feels? In terms of sound, myโ€ฆ
