Great heavy gesso! Good price!

I love love love Prima's Heavy Gesso. It's just a great product. Thick, creamy and very protective for my medium sized mixed media projects. This heavyweight gesso protects your paper or canvas so you can overlay your work however you like!

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Makes me angry

Spreads beautifully, thicker than most white plasters

I love plasters, use the thin version for silk flowers. Taste. There's a lot in this jar, enough for the four or five layers I used and it ended up looking like white porcelain. Great finish.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • thin

Nice Heavy Gesso Colors

Excellent coverage, does not flow or drip at all. It can be thin, or you can get it nice and thick. Dries quickly for gesso (if you can't wait, blow dry with a blow dryer). It does not overwet thin paper and gives good surface strength. In the photo you can see what a quick transaction with a credit card can do. Definitely meets my craft needs! I wish it was available in a larger size.

Pros
  • Glitter
Cons
  • Protection

The rocks I painted weren't smooth enough, which I liked. Someone from the FB group recommended this heavy gesso. Works like clockwork. Much better than just two coats of white paint. It's quite heavy, pudding consistency, but still spreads well. It fills the dimples well and makes for a nice smooth coloring. I opted for two layers. I'll definitely keep that handy.

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some mistakes

This is the best mixed media gesso

There are few products that are a must have in your mixed media arsenal and this is one of them. It took me years to buy it because in my opinion Gesso is Gesso. No no no. I've covered several mixed media projects with multiple layers of plaster, only to get frustrated with the endless ritual of applying, drying, and repeating. This product has cut that process in half. I can't recommend this gesso more highly and should probably put it on the scheduled delivery. Try a smaller jar to see if…

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • High price

Watercolor on gesso, on multiple surfaces: it works!

I've never used band aids so can't compare but it works. My only complaint is that it's incredibly difficult to get a nice, smooth, streak-free finish unless you sand it down afterwards. I've never polished anything in my life except my nails 😅😅😅 But! I was dying to prime a watercolor jar, and after 4 coats and lots of sanding with fine sandpaper from the dollar store, it worked! It even worked great in (and in!) my mixed media sketchbook. I put it everywhere lol. The watercolor execution on

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
