Excellent price; several cold colors; Love Case

For the price (I bought mine for fourteen bucks) it's a really nice little set with some unique colors. I love tin; As other reviewers point out, it's perfect for travel, and I love that the middle open space between two rows of colors matches my Windsor & Newton water brush. There are 3 metallic colors (#26, 27, 28 - see photo) but calling them "metallic" is a stretch as the shimmer is very difficult to see. They are not my favourites. I like two blue (#35, 36) and one green (34); They are…

I am a great watercolor lover, but I have never bought expensive watercolors. It was very affordable and well within what I wanted. The decadent color pattern is perfect for me as I paint a lot of portraits. However, I was very disappointed when I saw the small box. I was obviously expecting a fairly large box (and large brownies). Too bad because I didn't look at the specs, just looked at the pictures and assumed it was large. I also found the packaging very disappointing. Do not get me wrong.

Be patient when removing the label, read other comments about how

I bought it mainly for the box but the label on the box bothered me so I tried to peel it off. There was a sticky residue left, so I removed a small amount of ointment to wipe away the excess. The sticky substance only partially came off, but after wiping, the black paint on the container also started to dissolve. Now the half of the pan with the sticker is even tackier and metal is visible underneath the black enamel. I was really excited to use this palette and now it's just sad. Update: I…

BUY it for your travel suitcase! colors for students.

When you count how many other paint and case combinations you count, how can you not get these for $15.86? Two handy mix tanks for a juicy wash, four small tanks for small mixes, and it can hold 21 half molds (ask me how I know that...) And it has a thumb ring if you use that... Shut up the colors. Most of them are dirty and I think it's dirt because of the cheap paints. What really annoys me and why I can't recommend PAINTS (but buy them just in case!): 1) They're numbered, not named, so they…

I bought it out of the box, I also liked the colors

I confess I only bought this set because of the box. When I saw that it had rounded edges on the valve instead of flat, sharp edges, I knew I had to buy it. Now that I can see it in person I have to say that this is the best metal watercolor box I have ever seen. All edges are rounded, even the top edge of the box, so I don't have to worry about cutting myself. In contrast to other boxes of this size, there is enough space between two built-in rows for a middle row of pots. (You need to stick…

They are very nicely packaged in a beautiful colorful paper box.

. They are beautifully packaged in a lovely colored cardboard box. Inside the paper box you will find a very cute and useful metal box. I've seen those empty crates cost more than this full one! There is a ring at the bottom of the box to hold it when painting outdoors or on the easel. When you open the box, the top is curved into two different sections that you can use as watercolor pans. On the other hand, there is a foldable watercolor palette that comes in very handy! The paint cans are…

  • . Outstanding overall performance.

How to remove Prima labels and sticky residue from metal cans!

Well I saw them on Lindsey Weirich's TheFrugalCrafter YouTube channel, so I know watercolors. I'd been warned about a ridiculously reliable label on a cute little pallet (hope Prima Marketing will change that) so I was ready for it. The paper label comes off easily by soaking it a little in hot water or, like I used, Elmer brand adhesive remover. Of course, it will NOT remove any sticky residue! So I started other studies. I've read that others have tried acetone, oil and the like with no…

Worth every penny. in colors

First of all, I'm not a watercolor specialist and don't know this medium best, but I love it and have been doing watercolors for over two years. I bought these because I don't have a travel set and I'm tired of buying the same colors over and over again. What I love about Prima is that each of their kits has a different theme so the colors are not duplicated in other kits. Decadent Pies was the set with the most colors I don't have in my collection yet, and I had a very muted and almost "dull"…

Pros
  • Excellent overall
Cons
  • Doubtful

Like others I bought this just in case as metal cans like this are in the $30 range. I figured if the watercolors weren't very good I'd leave the cuvettes for other colors. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the brightness and palette choices. All the primary colors are there, but all very subdued, so not neon bright. They are earthier in tone and the chosen color palette harmonizes very well with itself, which I rarely see with pre-selected palettes. So I'm in - and decided to keep the…
