I bought this book thinking I could learn some primitive crafts from it or that it might be another survival book to learn from. a convoluted way of describing methods that might be found elsewhere in a more constructive and simplified way. Instead I had to order a pocket sized SAS Survival Guide to replace my larger SAS Survival Guide for my camping/bug bag! Due to its 245 main pages, this book also has very few illustrative examples. I can say I generally agree with the other 5 reviews to date. This book is a collection of articles by various authors published in other sources, including the journals Primitive Technology I and II (Bulletin of Primitive Technology) and Stephen Watts' Practicing Primitive. As such, the content varies from chapter to chapter, some more detailed than others.
